Character Appearance
Image:Gage01.jpg

Aerek Gage stands aproximatly five foot, ten inches, weighing in about about one hundred and fourty-five pounds. His body build is a bit more feminine then most men when it comes to the size of his body, but in order to counter this, he keeps his body lean and toned. His hair tends to stay about a medium length, coming to rest on his shoulders slightly when worn down. His rebellious attitude tends to show in his hair, however, as it is black with the very bottom layer of his hair colored dark red, and us usually styled in a surreal fashion closely related to the 'punk' or 'gothic' fashion. Normally seen with black eyeliner to further compliment his out going nature, as well as his deep blue eyes, Aerek likes to be noticed in a crowd, which could be considered both a strong point in his personality, as well as a weak one.

Though his body bears no tattoos, Aerek's attire more then makes up for that with flashy buckles and straps. He can usually be found parading around in a leather rose red body suit adorned with silver buckles and straps intracatly woven together, giving the illusion of a never ending wrap. His black boots compliment his hair, almost as if the top of his body starts black, fades into red, then back into black, the boots also having silver buckles on the sides. The rest of his attire, like his hairstyle, can show the influence of what would be known as the 'goth' or 'emo' style, with form fitting fish net shirts, or other articles of clothing that show off his lean figure.

Character Personality

Aerek Gage is a laid back smooth talker of sorts. Some who know him would think he was force sensitive, due to him being able to do something that seemed like jedi mind control, but that is far from the case. He’s simply a charismatic young man who has a way to use his good looks and charm to get what he wants, usually with a few well-spoken words. This talent could be seen as both a blessing and a curse, as it tends to either get him what he desires, or lead to trouble, usually with the partners of women he tends to flirt with shamelessly.

Fortunately, for Aerek’s friends, his ‘don’t give a shit’ attitude is only towards people he doesn’t know. Gage always shows respect to his friends and their property, almost as if they were part of the same brotherhood. As his friends count on him when they are in need, let it be money or trouble from a few thugs, he counts on them as well to get him out of the tough situations that his smooth talking can sometimes get him into, i.e. jail.

Though he has been in jail quite a few times, it was never for anything serious, nor was it for too long. Aerek behaves, to a certain extent, around authority figures, such as cops. He likes to stand out, but he’s not stupid. Gage knows that getting into a scuffle with a cop is the last thing he needs if he wants to remain free and do what he loves to do, and that’s to party.

Being on Aerek’s bad side is something that is hard to get to, but once you’re there, it’s going to stick for a very long time. He won’t openly approach someone he really doesn’t like, because he tries to not be the cause of a disturbance, but if one of his enemies comes over to him and tries to act out or cause trouble, Gage will send it back their way, tenfold.

Aerek’s outgoing persona has plenty of ups, as well as downs. One main strong point about his charismatic attitude is it helps him meet a lot of people, both good and bad. This has helped him meet many contacts, as well as learn a bit about a few underground organizations, while introducing himself to a few key members of said factions. To his disadvantage, though, is he may come off cocky to some of the more upper class citizens, who are more prone to watching his every move, looking for a reason to call authorities. This often gets him in trouble, especially when he offends someone with connections. Aerek Gage may come off as childish to some at first, but he makes a very reliable ally, and a very threatening enemy.

Character History

Aerek was born on the planet Bestine, the first of 2 children. A year and a half after his birth, he was given a brother, David. His parents separated when they were both young, too young to remember much of the event. Aerek’s father, Ezekiel Gage, joined the military, which caused him to lose

contact with his children. Their mother, Lea, raised them both. Aerek and David grew up being very close, but they were both very different. David was smart and well mannered, while Aerek often got into trouble for stealing and fighting. As they grew older, Aerek continued to misbehave, and David was the poster boy for the perfect son. Following in their father’s footsteps, both Aerek and David tried to join the military at the age of 18, enlisting in a boot camp style program to prepare them for the hardships they would face during their time of service. Aerek, of course, didn’t make it too far, what with his bad attitude and lack of respect for his superiors.

After being removed from the boot camp, Aerek made his way through life as an aspiring mechanic. His interest in various vehicles and machines held his interest more then getting into trouble and fighting did, and he picked up the trade very quickly. After David was shipped off to the military, Aerek decided that he wasn’t going to stay on Bestine and rot. He found a ship who’s crew was lacking a mechanic. Aerek didn’t make friends with them, he only acted as if they were his employer. He did what he had to do while he was on the ship, and that’s it. He kept in contact with David, talking almost every day about what he was coming to experience in the military, and how he was meeting new people and going new places. Aerek always told David that he was still on Bestine, to keep him from worrying too much.

Shortly after his new traveling career had begun, Aerek found himself on the planet Smarteel, where he met a retired smuggler. This disappointed Aerek a bit, what with his bad attitude always looking for more trouble, but then that’s when the man’s son came in. His name was Daniel, and he was Aerek’s key to the world of organized crime and underground smuggling. After a few runs together, Aerek found someone that he could trust, but whether or not he was a friend, would be a completely different story.

As Aerek worked with Daniel more and more he met with a woman that was happened to be Daniel’s second half at the time, Astrade Tur’esta. They were sent off together, doing various jobs. Gage was almost always sent with Astrade when he was given a job from Daniel. After a while, however, Daniel’s attitude started to change from a reasonable man to somewhat of a power hungry control freak, one who disliked when Aerek took on a job from another client besides himself. He displayed this by getting into a heated argument with Aerek, when he tried to control him as if he was a puppet of his own making, and of course, Aerek never responded well when it came to being controlled. But unfortunately for Daniel, the more Aerek worked, the more he became less dependent on Daniel, and more self promoting, offering his services as a hired thug and mechanic to the highest bidder. After a few months, the bonds between Daniel and Aerek were all but severed, both having gone their separate ways.

Four months after Aerek Gage’s last contact with Daniel, Astrade contacted him for a job. Of course, with Aerek being a full fledged ‘businessman’, he accepted. After having accepted the mission, Aerek found out about the demise of his former crime agent Daniel, but didn’t think much about it. During the course of the job, he learned the truth behind Daniel’s murder, by Astrade’s hand.

If their last encounter was a bit more light hearted, Aerek might have cared about his death, but of course, given the circumstances of their separation, he didn’t give two shits about who, or why, Daniel was killed. . As time went on, he continued to receive jobs from his contacts, though they weren’t as important to him as most would think. They had names that were easily forgotten, so Aerek wouldn’t be able to name them with out the face being present. And thus, despite the lack of Daniel in his life, Gage continued to make his way being a hired gun.

Nine months ago, Aerek received some deadly news. Like their father before them, David had met his untimely end serving in the military. It wasn’t in battle, however. The report he received stated that he was gunned down in his quarters by a rival, one whom he out did and apparently embarrassed to the brink of madness. He quit taking jobs while he went to visit his Brother’s tomb, which was placed next to his father’s and mother’s, on Bestine. His mother had fell victim to depression, which led to her suicide. Aerek only visited their graves one time, said his farewells, then moved on. He believed that he would find nothing that would help him there, though it broke his heart to have them dead.

When the Republic changed to the Empire, it was like the sun setting and the moon rising, something that didn’t much matter at all to Aerek, as long as he was getting paid and had the money to put food in his stomach. Being the last of the Gage family alive, he set out to make a name for himself, whether it be in the business of organized crime, or elsewhere.
