About

Athena Lorn is the second highest ranking official in the Galactic Empire, the youngest in her field and a brilliant military strategist. Named by Emperor Edwis Josdon himself as leader of his army and Empire she is the next step in line of succession and the most powerful woman in the galaxy. Having rose from poverty and enslavement, Athena's accomplishments are many, but most are because of her driven, unrelenting attitude to be in control and to win.

Personality

Athena isn't all bad. In fact she does have a good side, but she prefers not to show it in order to keep her underlings in line. Her business face is entirely serious and despite her small size she could become quite the intimidating figure because of her wit and cunning. Athena spent most of her life in the navy in some very harsh environments and some parts of her past have made her 'rough around the edges'. She has found little time in her busy life to fix herself and spends her time fixing problems in her business or deals to ensure a profitable future. Athena has also found little time for love, but is hopeful she'll find someone eventually. Like many of her Imperial peers she finds the Humanist Doctrines to be very true, feeling alien races inferior to that of humans and prefers it if they stay away from Imperial command. This is most likely attributed to past expierences. Athena is a driven woman with a determination to be better than everyone around her and hates to be bested. She is constantly forcing herself to adapt to new situations which is probably what makes her a good military commander. She is a believer in the Imperial idea which makes her dangerous, she is slowly making a faith out of the belief in the Empire and is willing to stop at nothing to further it's cause and strength. She is prepared to crush any problem in her way, but is also ready to welcome any ally that is willing to submit.

History

Born in the far flung Outer Rim world of Boz Pity Athena Lorn wasn't always Athena Lorn. Prior to her rise to Grand Moff status she was Ariel Saxan daughter of Raid Saxan and Dialla Saxan. Raid was a solider within the 327th Star Corps of the Republic and her mother was a Battle Surgeon. Because of this Athena travelled often, seeing many worlds that few others her age or twice her age would see. In fact her birth on Boz Pity was merely the result of her father's transfer to quell a rising threat of Civil unrest. He was regarded as one of the greatest military men of his time, a poster boy for the Republic military. He was brave, tactical, and very hardset. Athena has often mirrored him in almost every way, but Raid was never very devoted to anyone cause. And at times the salary he earned couldn't pay for his family's expenses, hence the reason he accepted so many orders from High Command.

After a few months on Boz Pity, Athena traversed worlds suchs as Coruscant, Tatooine, Honoghr, and even Kashyyyk. By far Athena found the forest world to be most boring and quickly fell in love with cities. When her father was dismissed from the Corps for conduct unbecoming an officer (accepting money for various mercenary work) he joined in with a criminal element. And although Dialla was aware, she neither intervened or made any mention. This may be the reason Raid is no longer alive at least from Athena's perspective. Raid Saxan went missing six months after he began working for Bolba the Hutt. It was suspected that he was killed when Bolba asked Raid to assassinate the senator from Caamas and refused, but no evidence was found to support it. It was later revealed to her a Twi'lek named Rhohas Finn killed him.

This may have attributed to Athena's future superiority towards humans and alien species. After Raid's death and the poorly managed or even worse, corrupt investigation of his death Athena became extremely wary of law enforcement and rarely trusted anyone outside of herself. While her mother still "operated" she wasn't all there and it made Athena grow very independent. But her independence led to major reality checks. Her once good intention of becoming a senator or Chancellor dwindled and she started to believe dreams of such caliber couldn't come true. But something inside her never let her truly believe that. As her mother's health began to deteriorate they moved off of Corellia.

Athena grew up to learn quickly how to support herself when her mother settled on Nar Shaddaa. She learned the streets and decided she wouldn't let anyone (even reality) stop her from doing anything even if she wanted to control the Republic. However she wasn't aimed at controlling the Republic, at least in the conventional way. She want the criminal underworld, she wanted the unlimited power and fortune that came with controlling crime across the galaxy.

It started small. Athena became a dancer at the Hyperdive cantina however it would prove that she needed more than just her wit. She was kidnapped by a local crimelord, known simply as Hollis he was an extremely powerful man in the Black Sun. Controlling over half of the Hutt sector and having enforcers in over ten dozen worlds across the galaxy, it was hard to run from him. And she had drawn his eye. Hollis took advantage of the teenage dancer, threatening her mother's life and her own life. Becoming an object of pleasure for Hollis she grew to detest aliens and criminals in general. Later in life she would harbor a superiority complex toward aliens.

A New Life

But Athena remained strong. She abandoned her dream of becoming a crimelord after seeing the dark surroundings and began to dream again. She eventually escaped Hollis, by paying off the guards holding her. She bartered her way to Republic space and made her way into the interior worlds. Ariel Saxan changed her name and enlisted in the Republic Naval Academy on Carida. Athena wasn't exactly the best of soldiers, but she proved very, very observant and even more so she proved to be cunning. In battle simulations she devised ways to defeat her enemies that some of her instructors found questionable, yet sound. Athena's professors would grow to appreciate her ability to take orders and hold tight in times or simulations of duress.

Because of this she graduated with high honours and if not for her lack of foot soldier marks she may have been valedictorian. Soon afterwards Athena found herself under the command of Tarsk Hu'lya, Captain of the Iron Fist, one of the Republic's newest Destroyers. Tarsk, a Bothan was not exactly known for his tactical ability and often relied on his inferiors to solve matters of importance. This grew on Athena's nerves and often at times she lost patients with her Captain. But foolishly he never had her removed from his command, nor did her write a complaint about her constant outbursts. This would inadvertently lead to his downfall.

Birth of a Leader

One such occassion Athena used to her advantage. With the help of several officers she overthrew Tarsk when he nearly caused a civil war on Altyr V, when that's exactly what they were trying to prevent. Looking him in the brig, she took control of situation and although blood was shed, Athena managed to stop a war from coming down. This action proved somewhat fatal to her career in the Republic navy. Be that as it may it did not end her military career. For avoiding such a catastrophe and having insight enough to take control; she was awarded one of two positions as Minister of the newly established Defence Administration.

But that moniker would not stick with Athena for long and when the Empire came to power. Because she believed in the re-organisation of the stagnant and corrupt Republic she was one of the first few to defect into Josdon's regime. And quickly she became critical of her peers that did not. Replacing her Minister title she became Imperial Observer Athena of the Imperial Security Bureau. This effectively made her the youngest, top ranking official in the newly borne Imperial Hierarchy. During one of her first missions, she was sent to take charge of a reckless squadron of the Empire's best although hot shot pilots. Crusaders Squadron had been the victim of tragic results during Siege of Bellassa and had suffered several deaths and was plagued by infighting and broken moral. Athena pulled them back together and helped to reform them before they were reassigned after a short term stay on her flagship.

On another mission of great significance to the Empire Athena was sent to observe a terrorist cell working on Annaj. After discovering many members of the Annaj government were leading a rebellion in the sector and attempting to assassinate the Emperor, Athena and a ground team {Names Undisclosed} quickly captured the traitors and crippled their fleet. Originally it was suspected Ren Zuits was mastermind, but it was the world's Prime Minister, Zuits was merely a hostage in the ordeal. After rescuing Zuits and imprisoning the assailants, the rebels quickly surrendered. Although Athena's suspicions of Ren never totally faded they were mired by her receiving the prestigious Vesper Prize of Peace for averting possibly worse results.

New Heights

Her rise continued after the establishment of the Empire. Again her title was changed when she was promoted to the newly created position of Grand Moff by the Emperor himself. Effectively making her both political and military liaison and face of the Empire. This is the highest office any member of the Empire can hold. As the Emperor sought seclusion and to not sullen his hands with the day to day operations, Athena was given sole command of the Empire and regent if he can no longer perform his duties. Shortly after she suffered humiliation at the hands of the Dark Lord of the Sith Tirdarius, affirming her hatred of Jedi and now of Sith. During the altercation she agreed to ally the Empire with the Sith, possibly her first diplomatic failure. However she vowed to get even with the Dark Lord and has put herself on the track to doing so. Athena's distaste for force-users has been affirmed by Tirdarius and though she never had any interaction with Jedi in the past she firmly believes they, like the Sith represent an unknown factor and therefore are a direct threat to security in the Empire. However Athena came to understand that for now the Sith are worth keeping as allies since they can track and hunt Jedi better than she can.

Following her promotion to Grand Moff, Athena made several changes including making the self-written Lorn doctrine a document of Imperial policy she wrote during the early days of the Empire as an Observer into actual production. The Doctrine was put to use and taught in Naval Academies as a piece of academic literature.

Death

Athena Lorn's next assignment would be her last. In what many believed to be a foolish decision she decided to handle the Imperial acquisition of Lianna based fleet builders, Sienar Fleet Systems, personally after a failure of communication and planning between herself, the Admiralty and the Executor Cameron Centurion. Due to this lacking in planning the Grand Moff went in blind and found herself surrounded and cut off. When negotiating with Sienar CEO Bismarc Mujari the two ended up in a stand off that result in both their deaths as well as the loss of several of Athena's armed guards as a bomb was detonated in Mujari's office. Perishing, the Grand Moff's body was never recovered and shortly after a funeral service was held in her honor.

Unable to replace the great Athena Lorn, The Emperor restructured the entire military and the position of Grand Moff was eliminated entirely. This adds to the true genius behind Athena, because even in death she could not be replaced nor duplicated.
