Character Name: Bade Tur'esta

Titles and or Nicknames: None

Affiliation Unaffiliated

Age: 27

Relatives: Mother: Andria Dura'stes, Father: Simon Tur'esta (deceased), Siblings: Astrade Tur'esta (unaware that he exists).

Overall Appearance: Bade is an average sized man with a modest build, roughly cut brown hair, and green eyes. He is customarily clothed in simple attire, commonly in pale shades of orange, red, grey, and green. In his experience such colors are invaluable when one is attempting to blend into shadows or lurking in a bit of mist. While on a job he often carries several blasters; however, only the one at his hip is usually visible and depending on what the job entails, he also has several bladed options tucked away.

While working, he always wears gloves with bulky knuckle pieces. These are his patented shock gloves and he is rarely found without them on his person or on his hands. He is by no means a juggernaut and standing at 5'11 he has the ability to fade into any passing crowd of humans and that is exactly how he likes it. Recently, he has entered the employ of the Empire and will, on occasion, wear a simple engineer's uniform.

Character Avatar: James McAvoy

Personality: Bade has recently become a very sensitive and private person. This was mostly due to his relationship with his fiance, Moira. In recent years he has become a very personable and somewhat sweet individual in private but he remains an unflinching asshole in public. He is a thinker and inventor that has always relied on his intellect to make up for his physical shortcomings and his workshop is often littered with deconstructed emitters, blasters, shield packs, and vibroblades as well as several gadgets of his own design that are still in the works, he has never been overtly strong and has been learning to handle weapons from a young age as a counter balance. He is almost always the consumate professional when dealing with clients and other employers.

Bade has led a very rough life, being the son of a prostitute on the desert planet of Smarteel, he has spent his whole life in a rather devious and shady environment. "Johns" of every shape, color, and species were a common part of his childhood and a few traumatic experiences led to a severe warping of his psyche regarding his own sexuality and what being "a man" really means. As a youth this confusion led him to be very violent and aggressive and occasionally he still has trouble dealing with many aspects of who and what he is.

His relationship with his father and his father's family has always brought his blood to a boil. When he was born his father originally seemed intent on making a life with his mother and in being a father as he did sign Bade's birth certificate; however, at some point during Bade's first year "Mister Tur'esta" (as Bade refers to him) decided that he was happier with his wife. He washed his hands of Bade and his mother. Bade hates his father and his father's other, "privileged" children. Of all his issues, this is the one that has never been fully addressed and it is the only one that still garners an unrestrained and unbridled response.

History: Bade Jura Tur'esta was born just outside the capital city of Smarteel to a young, dark haired prostitute named Andria Dura'stes and one of her regular "johns", a married man by the name of Tur'esta. Apparently this man claimed to have feelings for Andria and her son as he was present at the time of Bade's birth, named him, and signed his birth certificate. However, it seems that circumstances changed soon after. His father disappeared and his mother was condemned to either sell her body to unfeeling and ungrateful men or let her son live in squalor or possibly not at all. She chose the former and young Bade was welcomed into the rather closed and protective coven of prostitutes in Madame Or'estes' house of reasonably priced love.

Some children must wait until adulthood to realize that the world cares for nothing and no one ... Bade did not. In fact, he needed only to reach the age of four. It had been a quiet night, that night ... most of the "business" had shipped out and only a few Johns were running about and most of those were dallying in various rooms. Bade had visited with his mother for a short time before bedtime as usual in the backroom, away from prying eyes ... or at least, so they thought. Later that night, a drunken man broke into Bade's room while he slept and brutally attacked him. He was "saved" by the wookie bouncer, Gorro, who proceeded to string the man up by his ankles and, after ripping his arms off his body, displayed the man outside the house as a warning to others intent on mischief.

Despite the fact that he had been "avenged", Bade was deeply disturbed by this incident as most young children probably would be. He found that sleep was difficult to come by and silence ruled his world. Nothing his mother did or said could make him snap out of it; however, eventually he was able to recover somewhat, though he would never again be the same bubbly little man he was before the incident, much to his mother's dismay. As he joined in schooling with others his own age, he found that he was very different from the rest. They usually had two parents and their mothers did not have ten or twenty different men running around each week. Children were often rather cruel to the poor fatherless boy that stayed in the big house their mothers were always scowling at in passing. They bullied Bade mercilessly, but he generally ignored them until one of them insinuated that he was "a whore like his mother". The fury that was unleashed in this one moment, but almost over powering. Bade beat the boy nearly to death before a few older students were able to pull him up and off him. He was removed from the school sometime latter for "disorderly conduct". He was eight years old and actually being kicked out of school opened a few doors for him.

He was taken into the care of Gorro during the day and the wookie's inability to do certain repairs led to Bade doing most of the simple jobs. Gorro supervised a plethora of little jobs: fixing the cooking equipment, repairing broken locks, and recalibrating cameras and audio recorders. Bade discovered that he was rather good with his hands and machines seemed to come apart at his command. The next five years under Gorro's tutelage, Bade learned everything he could about mechanisms and the two rules of the freelance mech specialist: 1.) Get the money up front and 2.) It doesn't matter if you can do it or not, say you can and figure out the details later.

It was during this time that Bade started to become curious about his father. His last name was key to finding the Tur'esta family, obviously ... and when he first set eyes on "Tur'esta's Custom Repair". He was ten years old and the first person he met was a seven year old boy playing outside. The boy's name was "Kess" and he was not interested in Bade, only in playing with his brand new toy ships which glittered in the sun. Bade ignored him and instead walked inside and came face to face with the man who had his eyes, chin, and hair. Although Bade was thrilled, the man seemed to be terrified and he kept looking around to see who was watching. Bade found this behavior disturbing to say the least and some parts of it angered him as well. He was this man's long lost son ... shouldn't this be a good thing?

The man wasn't interested in getting to know him, like Bade had always imagined, and he wasn't "unaware of the boy's existence" ... he just wanted him out of his shop. He slipped Bade some credits and told him that if he left quietly Tur'esta wouldn't have to call the authorities to carry him off. Bade was crestfallen and as he left he stole a glance at Kess and felt a spark start to grow inside of him. Where he was squabbling to survive on the other side of the city, this kid had everything ... toys, clothes, a house, a place to play ... and a father. He wasn't smiling nearly as much as Bade thought he should, he was just sitting there in the dirt. Upon returning, Bade was determined to change his name, he wanted nothing to do with the Tur'esta family who obviously never wanted anything to do with him. He started calling himself Bade Jura and for several weeks it appeared that he would get away with it. However, his mother was most displeased with this and she made it known to him that not every child born in his condition had father's willing to sign birth certificates. There was also the fact that very few men had ever seemed to have real feelings for her and she was just not prepared to let go of that idea. It was irrational and she admitted it; however, her desire to keep that illusion was what persuaded him to change his mind. He is a Tur'esta for her, not for Simon.

A few years later, at the age of fourteen, Bade caught a ride off Smarteel against his mother's wishes. He took up with a bounty hunter that frequented his mother's bedroom and who promised Bade he'd teach him the in's and out's of the trade. Once again, Bade discovered that people just couldn't be trusted. The hunter stopped off on Tatooine, got a job, and ditched Bade as "excess weight" when he realized what having an apprentice was really all about. For a year or so, Bade did whatever he needed to do to get by ... at first in hopes of returning to Smarteel. He disassembled droids and threw them back together, he did modest work on a few moisture farms, he also learned several invaluable skills such as, how to fade into a desert and how to dismantle and rebuild blasters with his eyes closed.

Bade soon began to realize that the key to success was being capable and being reliable. He spend most of his time around various cantinas in Mos Eisley, Mos Espa, and when he had garnered the courage, Mos Gamos. He began picking up minor jobs as a hired gun, on one such job he met a young bounty hunter/pilot named Utehp Gura. Utehp had a considerable amount of trouble with his guidance systems and found that he could not afford to hire a tech to repair it. Bade offered him service in trade, if Utehp would teach Bade how to fly Bade would repair his ship. At this point in time, Bade had no idea how to repair a guidance system, but he was able to convince Utehp that this was not the case. Bade spent nearly 48 straight hours learning his way around Utehp's ship.

At first he was flummoxed and afraid the bounty hunter would bludgeon him to death. However, he refused to give up ... he went out of his way to gather all the information he possibly could regarding such a vessel. Somethings he learned from reading and many other things he learned through trial and error; however, he was able to repair the ship in less than a week ... two days shy of the original deadline that he and Utehp had agreed on. Uteph was impressed and not only taught Bade how to fly, but hired him on as a mechanic. It was in this capacity that Bade was truly introduced to the world of intergalactic bounty hunters. He spent most of his time absorbing as much information as possible and learning every little thing he could about blasters, blades, armor, and testing theories regarding specialized gadgets, such as his shock gloves (a pair of gloves altered to deliver a mild shock with each punch), forearm batons, (mostly defensive weapons made up of a light, hard material, that can be used to render an opponent unconscious) his first attempt at an original blaster (still under developement), and his first hologram module.

After a year or so and numerous jobs, Bade and Uteph became good friends and confidants. It was Uteph that provided Bade with his piloting skills, his awareness of underworld politics, and most of the contacts that would one day make him a rather rich man. Bade began working independently at the age of 19 when Uteph loaned him the money to purchase his first ship, The Bachi. It was a simple craft, built for short term speed and agility, not for great distances, but that didn't matter much considering nearly all of his first tasks were either on Tatooine or within the nearby Death Wind Corridor and other parts of the Arkanis Sector. It was little bits of jobs, usually transporting thugs or materials, occasionally he was offered a bounty that no one else wanted and every so often, he was, quite literally, asked for the heads of certain people. Bade wasn't about to be picky, he took every job that came his way with gratitude and an eagerness that few others bothered with. He managed to developed a reputation for reliability, which is worth it's weight in gold in the bounty hunter business. Bade soon found that being able to fulfill any and every job without fail could be very profitable and he was able to repay his debts to Uteph in less than 18 months. From there he continued building his reputation for being a "hard nosed, determined little bastard that would crawl through any hole no matter how dirty or grimy it might be to get his mark."

After a year or two, he found that he'd outgrown his area and was in need of a challenge, as a result he sold The Bachi in favor of a better equipped, faster, and more powerful craft. It was the recommendation of Uteph that led to Bade's acquisition of a Firespray-31, a model he was not essentially thrilled about. However, Uteph's laundry list of modifications to his own ship led to an impressive little machine and helped Bade to see how much a gear head like himself could really do with a sturdy platform. He purchased a new vessel that he named The Andria after his mother ... who was the first person he allowed to set eyes on it. Bade had been sending money to his mother since he was seventeen and had made it possible for her to leave her old profession. She'd "retired" on Derra IV where no one was aware of her previous life. Bade visited her frequently and came to know the city of Culdur, and it's cantinas, exceptionally well. It was in one such cantina that he first met Moira Davir, a fiery, red-headed, waitress who rendered him speechless almost immediately.

Bade's history with women was rather short and very ... unusual at this point. While he was very good at relating to women, considering he was raised by numerous females of various shapes, sizes, and species; however, he found himself incapable of having a real relationship with any of them. He had always found that while he cared for them, in fact because he cared for them, he felt that he had to keep them at arm's length. Deep down inside, Bade always feared that if he allowed himself to "lose control" around a woman that he, being a man, would treat the women in his life like the Johns treated his mother. You only need to walk in on your mother during one S&M session gone atrociously wrong to know how horrible such an activity can be for a woman. Bade walked in on several and never having a male figure in his life that showed him that not all men treated women that way, it has been his silent fear that he would hurt the girl he cared for.

Moira was different. It wasn't that he didn't care for her and it wasn't that she didn't like him ... the truth was that the moment he first met Moira he was her's, he knew it ... in the back of his mind, he belonged to her, there was no way around it. Bade did not appear changed, his face didn't blush, his eyes didn't cloud over, he didn't even stutter when moisture eventually returned to his mouth and he was finally capable of speech. He somehow managed to be completely aloof and the effect was somewhat odd. Moira was a pretty waitress in a dusty cantina on a planet full of desperadoes and gunslingers. She'd suffered catcalls, she'd been hassled in and out of the establishment, she'd had unwanted hands all over her ass and she'd developed a rather thick, almost reptilian skin. She expected men to make stupid, sexual or testosterone driven comments and she was prepared with cutting quips of her own. However, Bade was quiet and observant, he was also exceptionally polite and always tipped well.

For nearly a year, this is how it went: Bade came in, sat only in the area that Moira was working, and they shared a bit of small talk and the occasional compliment and every now and again he told her about what he did and allowed her to rant about her customers. They were friends and, despite the fact that neither of them acknowledged it, they both had feelings for one another. It was not until one night when Moira's mouth was not sufficient to keep her out of a fray. A group of drunken customers decided that they wanted a little more from Moira than a few quips. While she did put up a valiant effort while trying to escape, the three men harrowed her into the streets ... where luckily, Bade was on his way to his mother's home. Bade made short work of the drunken men through pure shock tactics: a flash grenade here and a few high frequency sounds there, and the drunks scattered.

In the coming months, the two developed a more intimate relationship. While it progressed slowly, due mostly to Bade's somewhat boisterous approach to romance and Moira's naturally rebellious nature, the two of them understood one another. Bade knew the simple, somewhat whimsical little girl under Moira's lizard skin and she could see through his shell as though it wasn't even there. For the last four years, the two of them have been a very combative, passionate, yet exceptionally close couple. Four months ago Bade decided that Moira was the only girl he would ever be this comfortable with and the only girl that would ever be able to see past all his little quirks (there was also the fact that he loved her dearly, but it would take more than thumbscrews for him to admit it to anyone but Moira) so he decided that it was time to make it official. Bade proposed to Moira and the two planned to wed ten months later, of course, this was before Moira discovered that she was pregnant. Now their wedding plans are in flux and Bade is discovering yet another element of adult life that scares the ever lovin' hell out of him: Fatherhood.

The greatest impetus to Bade's marriage proposal was an opportunity for him to change professions. For years, Bade had built, tested, researched, improved, and completely customized different items dealing with hunting down outlaws. Some of his items had become popular amongst elite hunters: force field traps, hologram traps and personal disguises, shock/blade gloves, regenerative shield packs the size of coins and other little items were pulling in profits that rivaled his bounties. It was these items that drew the attention of research specialists at Czerka Corporation. They offered Bade a chance at a professional career developing new items and helping to improve those already set for production. Bade signed a two year contract with Czerka who assigned him to their newly acquired Imperial military contract developing new and improved personal shielding units for "specialized missions of a delicate sort". Although he was never informed of what such missions might involve, his ability to turn a blind eye to politics and social agendas made Bade a prime candidate for such a position. It was the perfect time for Bade to leave behind his former difficulties and settle into a civilized life.

However, life was just not ready for Bade to set up shop on Easy Street. One of his former employers, Desh Corso, who had paid him for several jobs asked him about a woman named "Astrade", a woman that killed one of his contracted men, Daniel Rezdel, and severely injured another who just happened to be his younger brother. Bade was curious as to why he would be asked about such a person and was told that the woman's named was Tur'esta. Bade was unsure how to react, so he didn't ... he told the man the truth, he'd never met the woman in his life. The man offered Bade one last job ... Astrade Tur'esta or information leading to her capture. The bounty amount was substantial, but still not quite as great as the amount earned through Czerka. At first, Bade said "Thanks, but no thanks." and that was the end of the conversation. However, the idea seemed to wiggle and squirm inside his brain for the rest of the night. Old feelings and old resentments seemed to come shuffling out of the shadows and started nagging at the fringes of his brain. This was his chance ... he could get them back for all the things he'd been forced to live through. They were in trouble, they had used up all their priviledges, they had been spoiled and were now suffering ... and he was in a perfect position to take advantage of it.

Despite the migivings of both his mother and Moira, Bade returned to Smarteel and for the first time discovered that his birth father was dead. He also discovered that Simon Tur'esta and his wife died without wills and by Smarteelean law, all of Simon Tur'esta's assets were to be left to his eldest child. Therefore, the smart and neat shop on Keel Street, and all the items within it as inventory, belonged to him as did a ship registered in Simon's name called Exodus, all of which were sold illegally. It was this, along with his personal vendetta, that brought him to make the most rash decision he has ever made: he contacted Corso and took the job.

NPC: Bade's mother, Andria, and his fiance and mother of his unborn child, Moira Davir. Both will certainly make appearances.

Possessions:

- The Andria: A modified Firespray-31 with custom force field cells and a modified shield array of Bade's personal design. (I do not intend to do a whole lot here as the technical aspects do not sync up very well with my Roleplay style. I just need a ship and this one is the one most suitable for a bounty hunter.)

- Two KYD-21 pistols.

- One modified DL-22 Blaster Pistol (essentially, a DL-22 with a DL-18 hilt and absolutely no stun setting)

- One A-280 blaster rifle, often painted and repainted depending on a particular planet's terrain.

- One combat knife, usually concealed in his boot, and one vibroblade that he rarely uses. (He uses it mostly the same way an inexperienced baseball player uses a bat: a whole lotta bunting.)

- Clothing, including his customary faded clothes and tough, faded, and well worn brown leather jacket and pair of matching tough and dusty leather boots.

- A gilly suit and rudimentary camoflage.

- A specialized harness that allows him to carry one of his KYD's across his back, another underarm holster for his other KYD under his jacket, and one hip holster for his DL-22.

- A rucksack which often includes: the blade options for his gloves, portable force field trap elements (four emitters that when attached to opposing walls or at certain angles to create force field cages), homing beacons, and a holo disguise device that when engaged allows him to alter the appearance of certain items: namely weapons, traps, or even a small ship, but for only a short time.
