Appearance
Race:
Kantè. The Kantè are a near-human species that originate from the far planet of Abrion Major. The Kantè are almost physically identical to humans with the exception that they are covered in an intricate pattern of spots. Each Kantè has a different pattern than the next, although families tend to have similar patterns. The Kantè are also more agile and faster than a typical human, and they are gifted with the ability of the pheromone control. The Kantè are able to produce pheromones from the spots that cover their bodies, and then manipulate them to alter the behavior, mood and actions of others. The common myth about the Kantè is that their power of persuasion comes from their voice, since they often use their pheromones to put a subject into a highly suggestive state and then talk them into doing what they want. Even though the Kantè are able to manipulate others more effectively with a balance of pheromones and talking, the Kantè can still influence others by using basic emotional pheromones such as fear, anxiety, bliss, lust, and depression without talking.
Physical Description
Like all Kantè, Brinton is covered in a pattern of dark brown spots showing his heritage. Brinton has intense golden eyes that seem to see everything for not only what it is but also what it could be. He has light brown hair that normally has a wind-blown look. Brinton has a strong, graceful build from his years of training, daily exercise and Kantè heritage and the learned need to look semi-intimidating in the Senate. Brinton also possesses several distinguishing scars from his past. The right side of his torso, neck and face is discolored because of a burn he sustained years ago and a long scar on his lower back due to a failed assassination attempt.
Brinton’s occupation requires him to wear nice, professional clothes and the habit has carried over into his daily life, leading him to wear fashionable, expensive clothing. Although Brinton dresses in the most fashionable clothes, even his senatorial outfits allow him maximum flexibility in case he needs to move swiftly.
Personality:
Brinton is a dedicated, confidant young man with a strong moral code and a great deal of determination. He has learned to keep his emotions in control through his Jent-Tu training. Brinton never care-free, and he has grown even more driven and serious since his appointment as a Senator. This doesn’t mean however that he is depressed or uneventful; he has a decent sense of humor and doesn’t mind using his pheromone control for minor entertainment. Brinton is intelligent clever and a great speaker making him not only a great Senator but also a skilled businessman.
History
Born on the Kantè homeworld of Abrion Major, Brinton spent much of his early years in the capitol city of Tarian with his parents. When Brinton was old enough he was sent to study Jent-Tu, the Kantè fighting style, with the masters of the art as many Kantè children do. With the masters, Brinton learned the importance of inner-balance, discipline, and confidence through the Kantè martial arts that focused on turning an opponent’s attacks against themselves. Brinton excelled at his training and continued practicing and training himself even after leaving training.
Brinton took the lesson’s he learned through Jent-Tu with him even to the academy where he studied politics and galactic affairs, in the hopes of one day serving in the Galactic Senate. His discipline, intelligence and charisma made him a natural during mock senate hearings and lessons, and shortly after his 18th birthday he was nominated to serve as an assistant to the Abrion Major Senator, Ortz Numeg.
During his term as assistant, Brinton took advantage of the opportunities offered to him, spending much of his time in the Senate archives, talking with other Senators and representatives and even made a few trips to the Jedi Temple to observe their practices, learn their philosophies and compare to Jent-Tu.
After only a little more than a year, Senator Ortz Numeg was found dead in his apartment with a blaster shot in the head. While the investigation didn’t find the killer or any conclusive leads, Brinton suspected a group of Senators that Numeg had been investigating were behind it. Out of the Numeg’s assistants, Brinton was chosen to replace him and later the leaders of Abrion Major confirmed his appointment as the official Senator.
As Senator, Brinton carried on Numeg’s legacy of being a neutral, representative in the Senate, listening to all the evidence before making his decision. His skills as a public speaker, secretly and rarely enhanced by his pheromone control, soon made Brinton a top Senator and earned him seats on several committees, including the Inter-spacial Law committee.
During his appointment on the Inter-spacial Law committee, Brinton was presented with a case the Jedi Aeria Voru brought before them. The Jedi claimed there were two Dark Jedi operating in the galaxy and their presence endangered the republic. Brinton was skeptical at first but soon found himself believing Voru. As a student of Jent-Tu, Brinton had always been tought of the honor of the Jedi and he had learned much about them during his visits to the Jedi Temple and so he vowed to do his part to help and get the Jedi’s claim verified.
However despite his attempts, Brinton failed and after a series of mishaps the Jedi became regular targets during Senate hearings. When a emergency session was called to discuss disbanding the Jedi council and the confiscation of their weapons, Brinton saw it as his personal task to stop the measure. He brought forth hours worth of evidence to support the Jedi, and made valiant arguments on their behalf, but the night before the vote he was attacked by an assassin sent to kill him. A brief fight ensued, and Brinton obtained a blade wound in his back but survived after using his pheromones to force the assassin to kill itself before it could kill him.
Brinton spent the next week in a bacta-tank recovering from the injuries of the fight, thus missing the vote to save the Jedi. By the time Brinton was able to get back to work the Jedi had fled their temple and the Senate were receiving constant updates on the “Dangerous Jedi Problem”.
Knowing the Jedi must have left the temple in a hurry, Brinton used his Senatorial privileges to gain access to the temple after it was deemed evidence. Under the guise of collecting evidence against the Jedi, Brinton made several trips to the Temple to gather some of the Jedi Belongings. He downloaded all the Data recordings he could for the archives, and smuggled out training sabers and other artifacts that he could hide within his clothing in hopes there would one day be a need for them again.
In the time that followed that fateful law, Brinton had set to work discovering other Senators who opposed the new direction the Republic was headed and has attempted to use one of his family’s abandoned mining facilities in an asteroid field near Phu in the inner rim. It has yet to be used, but Brinton has been secretly filtering credits and supplies to the facility.
Belongings
Brinton’s high-class lifestyle has awarded him many trinkets and belongings. His prize procession is the Modified SoroSuub Horizon-class Star Yacht he was rewarded for his service as the Senator of Abrion Major. The ship, The Laughing Maiden www.galactic-voyage.com/L...hadow).htm , has been heavily modified to fit all his needs. It has two laser cannons, two concussion missile launchers, a retractable blaster cannon and it’s aft docking bay has been modified to contain a fair-sized starfighter if the need arose. Because piloting is not one of Brinton’s strong points, the ship has an auto-pilot installed with several evasive maneuvers and an astromech droid can interface with the A.I.unit on the bridge to help pilot the ship.
Since his father’s death, Brinton has inherited much of his property, including several mining operations, his mining business (although he allows others to run it), and homes on several key planets (Abrion Major, Coruscant, Mon Calamari, and an apartment on Bespin’s Cloud City). He has sold several of these properties to an alias of his, Torz Ganem, to prevent anyone from looking into them (the mining facility near Phu is one of these).
He also carries a retractable vibro-staff, which condenses down to a foot long and opens up to be five feet long, and small blaster pistol that he was demanded to carry by his security team.
