General Rules
Game Play
- As administrators we are here to help make the experience as pleasant as possible. We are open to listening to any ideas or suggestions you might have to improve the role play. The only thing we ask in return is that you respect the decisions we make on behalf of the role play. Persistent arguments will result in punitive actions.
- Be respectful of the other players and the staff.
- We do not accept canon-characters here since we are not canon ourselves. This means no Luke, no Leia, no Han, no Anakin. This means your characters can no be related to, or have met any canon characters, nor participated in canon events like Battle of Yavin, the Battle of Coruscant, or the Battle of Endor. Those events did not and will not take place at SWE.
- Additionally canon histories of places and or factions are not accepted. If an event happened in Star Wars lore, chances are good a similar event happened here, but not the SAME event.
Posting Rules
- We ask that IC posts be of reasonable and respectable length; preferably 2 paragraphs minimum [6-10 sentences per paragraph] in each post. We understand at times this is not possible, but please try to make the story a good one. We will do whatever it takes to keep the writing at a high level. The RPC reserves the right to request a post be added to if it is too short.
- If involved in a scenario you should post within 48 hours [2 days] of the previous post when your turn arises. If you are unable to do so, please notify the moderator/campaign manager/thread starter or your turn may be skipped entirely or your character could be NPC'd by the moderator.
- Out of character OOC posts are not permitted in the [Galaxy at Large] forum, or the [General Role Play] forum. Please discuss plot points or other particulars of a post in the [Scenario and Role Play Planning] forum thread.
Game Play Rules
- Characters can die in this role play, however the decision as to if a character dies as the result of an attack is up to the administrators or the RP Leader [campaign manager/scenario moderator's at a future date]. Death can result from a direct attack on a character by another character or characters. In order to try this you must inform an administrator or the RP Leader and inform them of your attack and desire to kill another character. From there the staff will take it and inform all of a decision.
You are not required to do this if you are only going to attack but not kill another character. In that situation the characters involved can plan as normal in the Scenario and Role Play Planning forum.
Note: This is NOT a dice rolling, or numbers based RPG. It's all about quality role play, not random numbers.
- With the limit on Force Users here, we insist that you do not abuse use of the Force here. Any posts that show your character utilizing more powers that he/she/it is capable of will result in a request to edit your post. If not done in a timely manner the post may be deleted and your turn skipped in the scenario. The decision will be made via a joint effort between the Moderator/Campaign Manager and an Administrator to ensure all protocol is followed. The limit of your force powers should be known by you via your training endeavors, and will also be kept up with via our Force Director.
- We require all new members to have five (5) IC posts in the General Role Play forum before being eligible to post in the Galaxy at Large forum. We do this to ensure you have complete understanding of our unique back story and our disassociated relationship with ‘canon.’ Members who are already active in the Galaxy at Large forum are not subject to this requirement.
- You may not post a GRP scenario that takes place after the GAL scenario you are in takes place. (Basically you can not play out events in the future in GRP, but events that take place in the past or the present that are of a character development nature. Ex. You can have a thread that takes place before the purge. An example of what you CANNOT do is have a thread where your character overthrows the government on Naboo, or your character finds the hidden rebel base.)
- We currently have no openings for Jedi or Sith without the express permission of the Sith Leader or Jedi Leader.
When we do, you must have shown an aptitude for quality RP, and submit a sample post as a Force-sensitive character.
If you wish to apply as a Force-sensitive character and have questions, please contact a Staff Member.
Multiple Characters
- SWE currently places no limits on the number of characters in a numerical sense. The rules we have in place regarding multiple characters now revolves around activity levels with your existing characters. You must be active with your initial [ie first] character for 30 days before you are allowed to apply for a second one. To apply for a third one, you must be active for an ADDITIONAL 30 days, for a total of 60. This can carry on in a similar manner with 30 days additional activity for each character.
- If you fail to maintain a character, we can and will ask you to drop any inactive ones. If you repeatedly apply for, and drop a variety of characters, you may be prevented from applying for new ones.
- Those of you wishing to play multiple characters must be active in the Galaxy at Large forum with your first character before applying for a second. You must be active with the second before applying for your third.
- Playing multiple characters in different factions does not entitle any of your characters to have knowledge you have OOC. For example, if Rhiara D'Loroc has knowledge of certain happenings with the rebels and therefore the player has that knowledge, the player's Imperial character, Ivy Morau, does not have access to this knowledge.
Note: These rules may be edited at the discretion of the Director or via discussion by the Staff at any time for the betterment of the RPG.
As always with any questions at all, please contact an administrator, or make a post in the Support Center.
