The Galactic Center of Coruscant was the political hub of the Galaxy for millennia and the seat of power of Emperor Josdon's Galactic Empire. It was generally agreed that Coruscant was, during most of Galactic history, the most politically important world in the Galaxy. A large number of the Galaxy's trade routes — including the Perlemian Trade Route, the Corellian Run, the Metellos Trade Route, the Koros Trunk Line, and the Leisure Corridor — went through Coruscant, making it one of the richest worlds in the Galaxy. Tellingly, the planet's hyperspace coordinates were (0,0,0).
Geology
Geologically, the planet comprised a molten core with rocky mantle and silicate rock crust.
The entire surface of Coruscant had been covered over throughout the thousands of generations of galactic history by sprawling mile-high skyscrapers and cities, and boasting a population of over one trillion to one hundred billion, depending on the era. These skyscrapers dwarfed all the original natural features including mountains and now dry bodies of oceans which once covered a large proportion of Coruscant's surface. Below the skyscrapers was Coruscant's undercity, where sunlight never reached. Artificial lighting illuminated these lower levels and advertisement holograms could be seen everywhere. There were numerous establishments for entertainment, catering to a myriad of alien species.
All natural bodies of water had been drained and stored in vast caverns beneath the city as a result of years of overpopulation. The only body of water visible was the artificial Western Sea, with many artificially-created islands floating on it, used by tourists on holidays.
With no bodies of water available to feed and water its trillion inhabitants, Coruscant's architects, along with many others from around the Galaxy, worked together to build a self-contained eco-system in the massive buildings set all over the planet. Polar cap stations also melted ice and distributed water throughout the planetwide city through a complex series of pipes.
One of the few pieces of Coruscant's landmass that were left untouched were the Manarai Mountains, twin peaks that stuck up out of the ground near the famous Imperial Palace. The Manarai Mountains included the tallest peak, Umate; many floating restaurants; the Monument Plaza; and were home to the Flames of Umate cult. It was beneath the Manarai Mountains where Lusankya was hidden.
Society
Galactic City was divided into several thousand quadrants, with each quadrant subdivided into numbered sectors. Some of these numbered sectors received colloquial names. For example, H-46 was also called Sah'c Town, named for the family that owned much of it. Some areas were specifically designated senatorial, governmental, financial (including banking zones), commercial, and residential. Larger areas of the planet were designated for industrial or manufacturing use only. The largest of these areas was known colloquially as "The Works", which manufactured spacecraft parts, droids, and building materials at an astonishing rate for hundreds of years, but as construction in space became more efficient, The Works fell in disrepair. It gained the reputation as a hub of high criminal activity and many locals stayed away from it. Another area of Coruscant was CoCo Town (short for "collective commerce"). Many diverse species lived there and worked in manufacturing.
Coruscant also orbited relatively far from its tiny star Coruscant Prime, ranging from 207 million to 251 million km. Thus, Coruscant did not naturally have a climate suitable for Humans. Coruscant's Humans countered this by erecting a series of orbital mirrors that reflected the sun's warmth and light.
Almost everything on the planet, from clothes to packaging and machinery, was recyclable. Another problem for a world like Coruscant was the unimaginable amounts of carbon dioxide and heat energy that its trillion-being population generated each day, so thousands of carbon dioxide reactive atmospheric dampeners were put into place in the upper atmosphere to prevent atmospheric degeneration. The first set of these planet-wide dampeners, developed by the Galactic Republic, was known as the Coruscant Atmospheric Reclamation Project. Galactic Standard Time was developed on Coruscant and revolved around the hours Coruscant had in a single day, which was 24 hours, with 368 local days a year.
Near the planet's core were a number of massive power relay stations. The lowest levels were abandoned to mutants and scavengers, such as the cannibalistic, mythical Cthons. The foundations of many of the buildings, some of which weighed billions of tons, also extended deep into the planet's crust.

Nestled within the confines of the Palace's walls are interior courts, featuring ganging gardens, marble pyramids, and zero-gravity fountains. The Palace contains over twenty thousand chambers and over fifty connected structures, including a rumored treasure compartment built by ancient pirates. The main thoroughfare in the Palace is known as the Grand Corridor, it links together the Council Chamber with the assemblage auditorium. It has been said that the Grand Corridor was so spacious that an entire Star Destroyer could fit within its gargantuan confines.

Ciara Palmera
Ciara was born on Coruscant to Lana and Gabriel Palmera, two Jedi Masters who had been trying to conceive for many many years. They faced ridicule for marrying in the first place but this was soon forgotten when they were able to prove that it would not get in the way of their duties. It came as no surprise that when Lana fell pregnant at the age of thirty five, she faced no opposition to it, they knew that she would not do anything to jeopardise her position in the Order. Her pregnancy passed by without any problems and when Ciara was born, both parents were delighted. She was perfect, their little angel and the apple of their eye. Both knew that spending time with their only child was more important to them than anything in the world and took leave of the Order until they knew they could devote the time necessary to it. Ivy Morau
Ivy was born to parents Rile and Gale Morau 25 years before the Great Jedi Purge. Rile was one of the wealthiest arms dealers in the galaxy. As was the fashion of all in his trade, he shunned the Republic's attempts at regulating his arms business. He financed the Senators of the Black Sun, who voted for a more laizzez faire philosophy on the economy-at least when it came to trading arms. Why should blasters be taxed more than water? In addition to the arms company he inherited from the family line, Scimitar, his family has bought up smaller companies and kept many under their original names. Credits paid to companies like Touche and Sharpest come together in one bank account. What looks like pure competition is actually quite monopolistic with Scimitar reaping all the benefits ...

Her natural inquisitiveness made her eager to learn, and very extraverted, something that seemed intimidating to the other children around her. When she told her aunt she wanted to travel the galaxy, Darelin took matters into her own hands. Contacting a friend at the Holonet News Corp, she arranged an apprenticeship for Lanaan when she ten, displaying her niece’s ability to write well at a very young age. She also enrolled Lanaan in self-defense and fighting classes, telling her, ‘The galaxy is a rough place. If traveling and reporting is what you want to do, rough is what you will need to be at times’ ...

Kristian Levin
Kristian was born as a simple young man, with a harsh and stern father. He was born on Coruscant, and kept away from the politics and war that could be seen every day. As soon as he was old enough his father took him on as his apprentice learning a trade with his father, he excelled in working with metal, sculpting, art, and at the age of sixteen was going to be an apprentice of a renowned artisan having learned all that his father had taught him and live out the rest of his adulthood with the simple artistic life ...
