Born on Naboo, his father was a senior scientist of Alderaan Biotics stationed at the Naboo facility. The company mainly dealt with hydroponics and medical research such as creating more effective bacta and finding other bacta equivalents. Bacta being so hard and limited to produce was held in a monopoly by two large corporations, The Zaltin Corporation and the Xucphra Corporation. Both of those corporations seemed to be slightly corrupt and likely would not openly embraced the creation of an easier to procure, cheaper bacta alternative. This fact would come into play later in Damion’s life.
The seven years Damion’s family was on Naboo after his birth were easy years. The family had two other children, Jenks the brother born before Damion, and Addison the youngest of the children. Damion was given a great education from the Naboo schools and as such developed a bright mind that easily grasped concepts and ideas. The young man developed some friends and partook of typical childhood activities such as games and pretend play. However, these relationships would be lost when his family moved to the Borleias facility of Alderaan Biotics.
On Borleias, Damion didn’t cope too well. He missed the highly refined culture of Naboo and the maturity he was treated with there. He somewhat failed to adapt to the new style of schools and his grades fell to below average and he became a difficult child. He spent many days of his elementary school years in time out or detention. It wasn’t because he was truly a bad child or not smart enough to get high grades, it was simply him rejecting the teaching a disciplining styles of the culture.
Once in the middle grades, something seemed to click in young Damion. He no longer had the disciplinary problems of earlier and his grades while not near what they were on Naboo, rose to slightly above average levels. Part of this could possibly be the martial arts classes that his father and mother enrolled him in. They were basic classes that focused mainly on Tae-Jitsu. It was there he found ways to cope and deal with everyday stress. He enjoyed such so much that he looked up other martial arts and wished to go to Bunduki to study Teras Kasi. Geralt wasn’t too fond of the idea, but cut a deal with Damion. Geralt would pay for Damion’s transport and some living expenses to and on Bunduki if Damion would graduate as a salutatorian. Geralt though that Damion would lose vision of such a dream and deal, But he would be proved wrong.
Not long after he started the classes and middles school, Damion started running with an older group of guys. The Legatus boys were all at least two years older than him. He was naturally a bit closer with the twins since they were the youngest of the group. He got to know their family a bit including their young daughter Pietur. That family certainly seemed quite a bit more off the wall than his. In his family, his dad worked and his mom worked and all the children were quite well behaved and reserved. It’s not to say the Legatus children weren’t well behaved they were just a bit more wild in life. The years went on and the Legatus boys graduated and moved. He still hung out with Piet every now and then along with the youngest brother.
Through it all he did buckle down and succeed in the school through mostly bearing through it. He graduated a salutatorian from the school. He father urged by his mother reluctantly let Damion go, despite believing that Damion could be so much more. Damion would spend three years with the monks on Bunduki training in Teras Kasi. He advanced well, and held a passion for not just the physical art but the philosophy behind it. Occasionally practitioners of other arts would stop by and demonstrate their skill in friendly competition. During these times he picked up the basics of other arts including the basics of Echani. His ultimate goal was to be a master of the art and philosophy. The goal was to be cut short as he would leave to attend his father’s funeral.
While Damion was on Bunduki, his family continued with their everyday life. His mother, worked in a local diner just so she could stay busy, his older brother was busy working himself up the chain at Alderaan Biotics. His sister graduated from school and began attending a Kuati University, studying spaceship design. His father continued his research on bacta and alternatives. Two years after Damion left, Geralt, had a breakthrough. He found a slightly less effective but ultimately cheaper. The down side is that it was a mistake in the experiment and he did not realize what exactly he had done. He informed his superiors of the find and set back to work trying to figure out what he did.
It wasn’t till many day later that Geralt was working late and feverishly on finding the way it was made that something would happen. An assassin, hired by either The Zaltin Corporation or the Xucphra Corporation, had planned to set up some explosives to go off when Geralt arrived the next morning. The assassin’s plans were changed quickly when he was spotted by Geralt after disabling a number of security cameras. It was over quickly Geralt lay dead on the floor and the assassin worked to delete any and all info on the breakthrough Geralt had. Once done he left. Investigators found no solid evidence at the scene. Damion was left his father’s yacht and several of the possessions on board. The rest of his Geralt’s will split his possessions and wealth. Geralt’s wife and Damion’s mother, Jules, was given the most while the rest was divided among the kids.
After the funeral, Damion did not take the death too well. While he and his father weren’t the closest, the circumstances around the death nagged at him while the guilt of not following in his father’s footsteps like his brother, set in. He began to argue and fight with the rest of his family. His mind was not at piece with the circumstances of his father’s death. He wanted the truth, to find his fathers murderers. It drove a wedge between the family. It was mostly of Damion’s side though. His brother, sister and mother were more than willing to put up with Damion and settle with the explanation they were given. Damion returned to Bunduki and left most of what his father left to the rest of the family. The monks noticed a change in him when he arrived. The young man had become more aggressive and more angry. He injured several of the other students. Despite their best efforts, the monks exiled him as they felt Damion had lost himself and taken step opposite than that of what Teras Kasi was meant to teach.
He refused to return home to the support of his family. With no practical skill he rented himself as a bouncer and bodyguard where his martial arts and aggressiveness could be used. It wasn’t long till he was hired on permanently by a man named Jergesh Nal, who regularly visited Nar Shaddaa and other seedy planets. Damion never questioned why the man visited these places so often and that’s possibly why the man liked him so much. Before long it was revealed that the man was an assassin’s guild member that was gaining power. He hired an outside bodyguard to ensure that he was not under the influence of anyone in the assassin’s guild. At the age of 21 he was literally dumped into the world of the assassins.
For the next 4 years he would be an apprentice to Jergesh. Damion was taught about poisons, evasion, how to hide in plain sight, how to shoot and refined his close combat skills, how to track targets and everything else that an assassin must do to complete the job. Jergesh split the money earned on hits 75/25 with Damion as per the regulations layed out in the Assassin’s guild. Jergesh also shared his habit of inhaling millaflower before performing hits. It was a bit of a ritual him and several other assassin’s partook in. They claimed it eased the mind and calmed the body. All the while he lost track of what led him down this path, the death of his father and wanting revenge.
At the age of 25 Damion was sent on his first solo kill. It was a simple one and easily within his abilities. He was to eliminate a member of House Elegin who resided on the galactic council. Jergesh gave Damion ‘Lady’ sayingtaht if he returned that the gun would be his. The target took regular vacations on the planet Garnib, he apparently enjoyed fishing. The starport that was on the planet had a clear view of the House members residence and it’s docks. Damion spent several days just watching the area’s routine before deciding on a strategy. It would be simple and quick. The starport had a roof access hatch that was never checked. He would use that to get to the roof and have a clean shot of the target. Every morning, the target woke up early to go fishing The boat used was relatively small and left the passengers exposed. He would have 2 bodyguards with him. This is when he would strike.
The morning came and Damion was in position, laying prone on the roof facing out to into the bay. Sure enough, the mark left the residence and proceed to drive his boat into the bay. Lady being a projectile weapon was silenced and thus they would have little clue as to where the shot came from. The boat drifted closer, it was almost in range. Damion focused and corrected for the bullet drop and the cross wind. He squeezed the trigger and with a light click his target let out a spurt of blood and fell out of the boat into the bay. From his guess the bullet hit the upper torso near the middle and the amount of blood in the spurt insured a kill. Damion quickly disassembled ‘Lady” and put her into a back pack.
Casually Damion strolled back to the access door, but stopped short of opening it as he heard voices on the other side. A fresh murder, an unidentified man leaving from a restricted area, Damion would have to find another way off the building. With the voices drawing closer to the door, The assassin survey the surrounding areas and rooftops. Without much more thought he took off and leapt to a neighboring building’s lower roof top. From there he planted a foot and reversed his direction and faced the starport. There was a single window below a small overhang. The size of it told him that it was either a bathroom window or a window to utility area. Hopefully it was a bathroom. Damion took off in dead sprint and slung his backpack off so that he was carrying it in one hand. He leapt off the edge of the building and threw his legs straight forward as his free hand grabbed the ledge and acted as a pivot point as his legs and then his body slipped through the open window. Last to enter through the window was his arm carrying the pack containing ‘Lady.’ It was a bathroom and thus relieve Damion a bit. He quickly collected himself and straightened his clothes and began to head to the door. One of the stalls doors opened and a woman walked out and gave Damion a strange look. To which he simply responded.”When you gotta go, you gotta go.” Before leaving the bathroom and puzzled woman.
The local security was on full alert, but no more trouble would come Damion’s way. He left the planet and returned to the assassin’s guild. He was congratulated and welcomed into the guild as a full assassin. Since then, he has went on enough missions to have a somewhat healthy living allowing him to purchase several of his tools used in his trade. He has failed a few and spent some time in jail but never for long as they have yet to pin an assassination on him squarely. Since the change over, he has found himself siding with the Empire nothing more than that they pay the best and his mentor is siding with them. Most recently he has found the assassination pool a bit dry and has dabbled in a bit of bounty hunting as the two professions meld well together.
