Personality
A very strong willed and opinunated young woman, Elayne is constantly proving to herself and others just how far she’s willing to go for certain things. Ever since she was a child she has wanted to prove to everyone that she can handle herself, that she doesn’t need to be looked after. When she goes for something she makes certain to go all the way and get what she’s after, no matter what the risks, just to continue to prove herself. Sometimes her determination and stubbornness can often make her appear brave or somewhat foolish.
Being an orphan she is very reliant upon herself and does not like letting people in too close. She only allows two attachments in her life and that’s to her ship and her droid. When she does have friends she is extremely loyal to them and will do anything in her power to help them if she needs, however there is always a silent fear that she may loose them in the back of her mind. Because of this fear she doesn’t like to get too close to anyone, so she doesn’t really have any friends other then her droid.Elayne does not hold her words back and is more then happy to speak her mind no matter the risks. She weighs everything up with her own sense of right and wrong and then decides what her opinions are on it. There have often been times where she has gotten herself into a lot of trouble by speaking her mind, or trying to sabotage something that she doesn’t believe in. Such things have made her seem unreliable to the wrong sorts of people, but other times she can be quite reliable. She is quite brainy but it conflicts with her being headstrong.
Belongings:
The two most important things in Elayne’s life is her droid and best friend, Skip, a simple R3 unit with it’s own personality quirks. The second most important thing is her ship, Lightning Arrow, a small freighter that she has been modifying since she first came aboard when she was younger, it had belonged to on old smuggler and he passed it on to her. She often works on both of her possesions, though more particularly her ship, as Skip doesn’t like being worked on too much. She also carries with her two blasters, fairly ordinary, though she can add a cable shooter to one of them. However her main weapons are not her blasters, she prefers things like sai and knives. Often carrying in hidden parts of her clothing small blades of the knife sort as well as the disk blade sort. Her two main weapons are her vibrodaggers, she has modified their handles to suit her and she likes to think of them as quite the sleek weapons.
Corellian Engineering Corporation HWK-290 light freighter (Lightning Arrow) - Modifications mostly to the engines for making quick and clean getaways, also some modifications of systems in case one of the major systems goes down, she can at least keep the rest up and running. There are also what was deemed unneeded areas of the ship where she cleared it out of things and made them areas good for smuggling.
R3-D4 - More commonly known as Skip, the droid is prone to it's own personality quirks, things like sarcasm have become a part of this droid's personality.
Blasters (x2) - Ordinary, one with attachable cable.
Vibrodaggers (x2) - Her main weapons, modified handles to sit better in her hands.
Numerous small blades - These range from small knives to disk blades, often hidden throughout different areas of her clothes, generally rather well.
NPC
Of all the people in the galaxy Elayne has found herself only truely bonded with one being, and that is her astromech droid Skip. The rather independently natured droid has it's own quirks and antics that make it a great companion on an otherwise lonely ship. A larger memory storage system in the droid then originally put in, the memories of it's past have helped shape the droid's personality, to become self sufficient and fairly unpredictable in most droid terms.Despite having many arguements with it's own, Skip is extremely loyal to it's master and will do anything to help her out of any tight spot. Though it will often communicate a lot of sarcasm towards Elayne and even perhaps threaten to leave her behind, it is all done in fun and the two get along exceptionally well because of the quirky attitude of the droid. The perfect companion droid as well as a great mechanic, this droid is loyal, determined and cheeky.
History
Born in the lower class district on Corellia, there were complications with her birth. At the time her parents were too far away from the nearest hospital to get any help. By the time someone at last came for them, Elayne had been delievered and was in the arms of her father, but her mother was in a bad way. It did not take long for her mother to pass away, never even getting the chance to have one glance at her daughter. As soon as she would be able to think clearly about what happened during her birth, she would blame herself for her mother’s death. This would have been one of the most horrible ways for her to come into the life of her parents.
Her father was less then uninterested in his daughter since her birth. Grief stricken he did not take proper care of her and was on several occassions warned that if he did not start properly caring for her she would be taken away. Still it did not get through to him, he named his daughter Elayne, after his own mother, whom he had never truly liked. This resulted in him being even more less caring for his daughter. In the end his grief over the loss of his wife was too much for him. Though Elayne never knew what really happened to him, she could only imagine the worst. From the age of 18 months she was put into orphan care.
Being an orphan Elayne was not given the best of upbringings. Her school was certainly not the best known on Corellia, not that it really ever mattered much to her. Ever since she started going to school she was being sent home for bad manners. As a child she was very quick to anger and often had tantrems. She simply refused to care about anything, feeling alone and deserted. Despite the best attempts of the people who cared for those in the orphanage, Elayne simply could never accept them nor open up to them. She was a very rebellious child and refused to pay attention to anyone, even if it got herself into trouble or even hurt. She would often play dangerously in the kitchen, in such a way that it was like she never really cared if she was going to end up hurt or not. There wasn’t even any tears when she burned herself on the back of her shoulder.
Her rebellious child years were eventually over, but they only turned into an even more rebellious teenager. Committed to being rebellious and have everyone around her disliking her, Elayne over the years grew more impatient with everyone. By the time she was 14 her orphanage carers had had enough, along with the other orphans in their care. Only shortly after that revelation, the young teenager left the orphanage. It had been a long time coming, she knew one day she would end up leaving, and so she did. There was no regrets from her for it too, she simply could not stand being around anyone in there anymore, not to mention their frequent attempts to try and get her to open up.It was not long before she was a stowaway aboard a smuggling vessel, she had managed to find one of the empty secret hatches that the smuggler used to smuggle things in his vessel. However the girl fell asleep in there and was eventually woken up by the smuggler when he attempted to put some of his new stock in. After much talking, the man, Deshnir Belloc, agreed to take her on as a part of his crew, teach her the ropes of smuggling. His ship was only a small freighter but there was enough room for them both to live. Learning the dos and don’ts of smuggling was a great and interesting thing for Elayne, and she soon started developing into a much nicer person. Deshnir was like a father figure to her and he was more then happy to keep her on, they often referred to each other as father and daughter on jobs, and their relationship was certainly just like that. He also taught her to be a mechanic on the ship, saying that a real owner of a ship will only ever allow a qualified mechanic repair it if the owner is out of action.
Over the years she spent with him he taught her a lot about the ship. She had lessens of all sorts in piloting, once he thought she was a good enough overall pilot he set up situations which she would need to get out of. Some involved some good maneuvering and fast speed to get out quick, while others involved some fancy flying and firing. Either way she adapted well to situations she may possibly get herself into. He also taught her the mechanics of the ship, which he took a little further by every time something was damaged, whether it was the ship or the refresher, he would teach her how to fix it, allowing her to adapt skills in the field of mechanics. Spending time with a smuggler for the years, Elayne also became very good at being able to pick and choose the right jobs and the right course to take in order to get the goods to where they were requested. At first she made mistakes, but Deshnir allowed her to, so that she would learn and move on from those mistakes and become a better smuggler.
He also wanted to make sure she learnt how to defend herself. However while he was used to the blasters he carried, she was no so interested. She learnt how to fire them, and had a fairly alright shot with them, what she liked to call lucky shots. But her heart was not in this form of combat, instead Deshnir paid for her to have lessens in the art of hand to hand and melee combat. After all she preferred to use her speed in movement and light feet to her advantage. So for years she trained in these arts. Her main interests revolved around the two vibrodaggers she loved to carry, they were her main weapons and would continue to remain so, she was very good at melee combat with this small, seemingly delicate sword like weapons. She also had a thing about carrying small blades on her, little knives and disk blades. This was for a protection thing, after all if she was ever disarmed it was unlikely they'd get them all. With these she mostly learnt how to throw them accurately, spending great measures of time perfecting her aim with throwing the objects.
By the time Elayne was 19 years of age she was a brainy girl when it came to piloting, smuggling and mechanics. It seemed that if she had ever really tried out in school she could have become whatever she wanted to be for she was indeed quite brainy. When she was 20 years old Deshnir announced after a rather big smuggling job that he would be retiring, and handing over everything to her. This completely stunned Elayne but despite her protests he insisted on leaving, saying he was getting too old for it. She was reluctant to continue on without him but she did, after all smuggling was all she really knew how to do to get by. Everything else in the galaxy didn’t seem to matter, in fact she was pretty sure that Deshnir had made it so she didn’t know much of what was going on in the galaxy at all, other then who the clients were. Being on her own she noticed more things about the galaxy around her and became more secluded in herself, feeling small in comparison to some of those things going on out there.
When she turned 21 she received a delivery, a droid she fondly named Skip. The droid was enjoyable company and while it at first refused to tell her who sent it, the droid soon explained that it was Deshnir. It was then when Elayne went to see her mentor and father figure to thank him, she instead found that he had recently died. Devistated by this she secluded herself even more from everyone else and stuck to doing her job and looking after the ship she had been given, along with Skip. It has been a hard life at times, but Elayne keeps her wits about her and remains determined to live life and continue on.
Role Play
History
Elayne got herself into a bit of a dilemma on the planet Roon. A fault in the navigation system of her ship saw to her unexpected arrival into the system, near the planet Roon and just outside the barrier of meteors and asteroids that naturally protect the planet. Oblivious as to what had been happening on the planet, she was fairly clueless to the situation that surrounded her. Much to her uncertainty and dislike she was brought aboard and Imperial ship, who strangely fixed her ship for her and appeared to not be as bad as she first suspected. However when the Imperial vessel landed on the planet she was soon taken into custody by the Roon officials and questioned. After her questioning she was forbidden from leaving the planet until everything was cleared and checked. Once the situation had been dealt with, one that she knew nothing about, she was free to go and was quick to do so. There are little to no prospects of her return to the planet for quite some time after her experiences there.Previous Roleplay: Disciplined Breakdown
