Garson Ryte has always been a man of opportunity. His mother Moira Destat-Ryte was Senator of his
Eriadu homeworld. His father Enron Ryte was a businessman who owned Ryte Universal a weapons manufacturing galactic entity. Garson was to become his father's successor, but much to Enron's dismay Garson chose a different path all together. The Military. He joined the Carida Academy via his father's funding just after he became of age to do so. His graduating clas produced some of the most distinguished cadets, including future associate
Neshkin Emura and
Kannon Sturm. Garson had dreams of commanding fleets and armies and through a few connections, not necessarily skill, he would come to realize that dream. Garson didn't have a spectacular career in the
Republic Navy which would perhaps have left him with little other choice with his dream slowly fading away. His mother's death spurred a lasting effect in the
Eriadu political arena. Campaigning on his mother's memory Garson Ryte won the next election, ending almost by default his mother's tenure as senator. Garson made shady deals in order to further his career, propelling him toward the spotlight as he opposed many of the Republic's decisions openly in the senate. He gained a reputation as an upstart and a recusant in the Republic ideal. This would earn him the ire of many other senators, but also gain the eye of one
Edwis Josdon who was in secret roping in senators like Garson.
Chosen to help him rise, Garson next suggested fellow Academy graduate Neshkin Emura as his next choice. When the Sinister Six were complete and under Josdon's bankroll things became to take shape. Using their influence they slowly helped Josdon rise to the top and painted the Republic in a bad light as the same time. Garson's home world allied behind him and as the systems around Eraidu did the same, he began secretly working with other senators to do so with their represented home worlds. He swallowed every bit of power he could get, and ordered the assassination of one particular senator that got in his way, Nila Wyn. Although failed it was still a testament to his loyalty to Josdon. Becoming one of the members of the Committee, which was a farce to control the senate. Binding the senate in arguments, bureaucracy, it became stagnate and nothing was able to get done anymore. Republic citizens began to get angry at the inaction of the Senate and as Josdon and the Sinister Six had planned the galaxy hungered for change. Garson Ryte found it personally satisfying that the Jedi were made out to be terrorists and enemies of the Republic. Taking his place as a Moff in the Galactic Empire; Garson finally had command of fleets and starships. He seceded Eriadu to the new Empire and proudly stood next to the new Emperor.
