Kalee was the home planet to the Kaleesh. It was located in the Outer Rim Territories, on the border of the Kadok Regions.
Kalee was covered in tropical looking foliage and beaches. Moss-covered canyons and cliffs filled the landscapes. It was apparently a harsh world, and wanting for resources. The Kaleesh housing and buildings were very temple-like. The Kaleesh were highly intelligent bipedal hunter-warriors, hunting predators such as mumuu and karabbacs to make ceremonial cloaks and war masks.

History
The Bitthaevrian Threat
At least five decades before the Purge, the Republic had had strained relations with Guiteica, homeworld of the Bitthaevrians, due to its non-membership. After a few years of failed negotiations, a Republic-backed soldier attempted to stage a coup against Guiteica's leader in order to force the planet to join the Republic. The attempt failed, however, and caused a massive surge of violence and hostility toward all Republic stations within the surrounding Kadok Regions.
Kalee, near the edge of Bitthaevrian space, though a mostly unnoticed planet considered backwater by the Republic, would have had nothing to fear from the m'Yalfor'ac Order, as the Bitthaevrian military was known. However, Republic administration wished to keep the rebellion a secret, and rather than making noise by having their own forces terminate it, convinced the Kaleesh that they were indeed in danger. Quietly sending a group of military instructors to the planet, the Republic trained and armed multiple Kaleesh tribes (resulting in the introduction of the popular, projectile-firing Czerka Outland rifle on Kalee), who with the help of a small group of Jedi Knights sent by the Jedi Council, were able to end the perceived threat for the Republic.
The Huk War
The Huk War was a long conflict prior to the Purge, beginning when the Yam'rii of the neighboring planet Huk, having overpopulated their own planet, began taking over and colonizing nearby worlds, eventually arriving at Kalee. The Kaleesh rebelled against their invaders in a bloody series of battles that would leave multitudes dead on both sides.
After obliterating the Yam'rii presence on Kalee, a Kaleesh leader led his warriors back to the Yam'rii colony worlds, massacring soldiers as well as civilians. The Yam'rii petitioned in the Galactic Senate for Republic intervention, and received as much when a dispatch of Jedi arrived to end the war. The Senate imposed harsh sanctions on Kalee, plunging the world into an economic crisis.Post-Purge
Kalee was also the site of an early skirmish roughly one year after the Great Jedi Purge. Jedi Knight Lupercus Revel was summoned to the planet by the Force in an attempt to avert another war amongst the Kaleesh and the Huks. Once there he sent a call out to other Jedi for assistance. It was answered by Evangeline Voru and Tais Voru who were joined shortly after by Tais' sister Aeria Voru. Then Imperial agent Blake Isul followed the Jedi master to and attempted to apprehend her. The duo quickly agreed to a deal to help Isul get free of him Imperial imposed sentence, and to help Aeria rescue her padawan, Paige Garrel. The pair left Kalee, leaving the strife there to Revel, and the Voru couple.
Shortly after being briefed by Revel, Evangeline's padawan Raken Stormrider joined them there, but he was not the last Force user who would arrive. As the Voru's and the other Jedi contingent prepared to try to thwart the pending battle, Darth Sinis arrived on the scene and took Tais hostage. Tais was thoroughly beaten by the Sith Lord in an attempt to afflict pain on both Aeria and Evangeline.
After Tais was taken away, Falastur Luran arrived as well, willing to offer her assistance in the rescue. Foolishly Raken rushed to try to help Tais rather than formulating a solid plan. Both Raken and Lupercus were killed by the Sith. During the chaos of saber battle, Falastur and Eva were able to free Tais, but at a high price to the Jedi Order.
Due to the failure of this diplomatic endeavour, it is believed that the Kaleesh and Huk have again began warring.
