Born on the planet Coruscant in the year 29 BTP, Kittanti was able to live a normal life during her childhood. She spent most of her days at home with her mother Amara. Her father Dorian was away from home often since he was a captain in the Republic Navy. Whenever he got the chance to come home he spoiled her a lot. When she began attending school she made friends easily and was very popular.
When she was 6, her brother Tarion was born. At first she did not have a problem with her parents having another child and actually liked the idea that she had a sibling. During this time she was very happy, she had a baby brother and she was getting through school easily. However, things began to change over the years. As she started to get older, Kittani’s father began to spoil her less and began focusing most of his attention on Tarion. She figured that it was because he was a boy and would be able to follow Dorian’s footsteps and join the Republic Navy.
During her teen years she began to resent her brother because it seemed that he was her father’s favorite. That wasn’t the only reason she started disliking Tarion. He was also starting to become quite the pest. Every time she would accomplish something great in school, he would always try to out do her. What really upset her was the fact that whenever he wouldn’t do better than her, Dorian would always act as if Tarion had.
At the age of 16, it just seemed to get worse and for a time Kittani just gave up trying to win her father’s favor. By this time he had already retired and was spending almost all of his free time with her brother, so she decided that she would just do the best she could do with whatever she attempted. She stopped trying to please others and started doing things only for herself.
Her father passed away when she was 18, the cause was an unknown illness. Despite the fact that she hated that he had cast her aside for her brother, she still grieved his death for weeks. Kittani’s grief then turned to anger when Tarion said he did not plan to join the Navy. He had promised her father that he would during Dorian’s final moments. Soon after her brother’s announcement she left home to attend the Republic Academy.
Going through the academy was challenging. It was a very different type of challenge for her but she was determined to get through this for herself and to honor her father’s memory. While he had been alive he had neglected her, but she still felt that he deserved to have one of his children follow in his footsteps. Since her brother had decided that he wasn’t going to fulfill his promise to their father it would be up to her.
Upon completing her basic training at the academy, Kittani went on to continue her military education at the Republic Naval College, where she spent the next four years of her life and managed to graduate in the upper tier of her class. Shortly after finishing her education there she participated in a training program at the Republic Navy Officers School. Once she completed the program she was commissioned as a Lieutenant and assigned to a Venator class star destroyer named The Avenger.
Over the next 8 years, Kittani stayed aboard The Avenger and performed her duties rising through the ranks. When the Republic fleet became the Imperial fleet she had been a Commander but was soon promoted to Captain when the ship’s current captain was promoted. Now the captain of The Avenger, Kittani is ready and willing to do anything she can for the Galactic Empire.
