Personality

Lupercus has always been the poster boy. The epitome of what a Jedi is. He negotiates over fights, but is not unable to defend himself against those wishing to bring harm. He is patient with almost everything and has a good sense of humor that he often brings out in even the darkest situations to help himself and others along. Lupercus is a staunch defenders of the Code and is almost fearless because of it. However is fearlessness is not arrogance, but rather a greater understanding of the Force. Possibly the most generous of Lup's personality traits is that he believes the galaxy wants to save itself from the inevitable destruction it faces on the path it walks now.

Lupercus is devoted to the Jedi cause and prior to the Great Purge and investigation, he was a canidate for the Jedi Council. Despite being hunted he still continues his duty as Jedi helping when and where ever he can even if it gives away his idenitiy or position. Lup is an expert negotiator and has been involved in countless treaties and peaceful solutions to escalating battles or civil wars. He has always preferred a peaceful end, rather than a battle, but is not hesitant to fight if nessecary. However Lupercus often sidetracks trying to help everyone he can, often endangering his mission or objective.

Background

Lupercus Revel has always been a Jedi, from birth and to death he will be a Jedi. Born on Tatooine to a Jedi mother, he was destined to follow her path even after she died giving birth to him. Lup's father who remained unknown would show up much later in his life. However until then Lupercus would be the son of Jedi Master Nihra Revel. Nihra was not a name often spoken by normal Jedi because of her devotion to the Jedi, but because of her renegade attitude. She would have been a member of the Council had she not constantly disobeyed their orders. Her maverick personality and legendary skill where what made her one of the Order's most notorious Jedi Masters and it was Lupercus' wish to become like her when he grew older.

Lupercus would end up being the opposite of her, perhaps because of his limited interaction with his mother (she perished during Lupercus' birth). Many call him a blind follower because he follows the will of the Jedi Council without question, but it is more of a faith in the Master's wisdom then blind indulgence. Lupercus would be come the padawan learner of Zorro Zasz. A Jedi Master that knew his mother very well and had developed a strong bond with him as a young boy. Zorro would be the one to teach young Lupercus to become a better duelist, a more philosophical Jedi, and the great negotiator he would become in the future. And through a sacrifice of his life, Zorro would teach Lupercus the true meaning of the Jedi Code. As a youngling Zorro would often impart wisdom to Lupercus while he was completing the neccesary training. It was Zorro's intention from Lupercus' birth to take him as a Padawan learner and had not taken another student in compliance with this wish. Because they had a prior relationship, the Council believed it was best and proved to be correct in their assumption.

When he turned twelve, Master Zasz would become his master and begin teaching him a greater understanding of the Force. Zorro was relatively unknown amongst the Jedi ranks, but thats because he preferred it that way. He was one that stood toward the shadows liking to be alone and in privacy. This never truly rubbed off on Lupercus, but the Jedi still had many similarities to his Master. But he and Lupercus got along quite well and despite being a loner, Zasz had quite a humorous side which he passed to Lup. They bonded like brothers and were sent on many mission together becoming each other's mirror. Making up for one's another's weaknesses. An extremely weak telepath, Lupercus didn't need to be when around the 'master of manipulation'. Zorro had a reputation for a strong ability to manipulate the Force, but was physically lacking. A poor negotiator and mediocre duelist, Zorro was taught by his apprentice the more finer elements of diplomacy. Though niether was a good with the lightsaber, their skills together were a match for most any threat they would be set against.

Zorro and Lupercus were dispatched to many worlds suffering from economical constraints and quite a few that were on the brink of civil war. One such occasion was when Lupercus and Zorro were sent to the sister world of Muunilist and while the Muun homeworld blossomed from the Intergalactic Banking Clan; it's sister world of Valc VII was crumbling under a failing government and no source of income for the planet. Because of it's location it remained basically untouched from traders and spacers and most fringers used it as a criminal hideout. Lup and his Master journeyed to Valc VII to help after a disasterous storm that crushed hundreds of homes and caused riots in the capitol city of Valset. Lupercus and his Master were separated when Zorro became injured and Lupercus was left to negotiate an end to the riots. But in the end there was not much they could do beyond helping with the reconstruction with the little aid the Republic sent. After leaving the government was left to their own, despite the two Jedi requesting further aid from the Senate. But the corrupt senators voted against it and the world was once more forgotten. Lupercus was saddened by such oversight, but he too moved after hearing wisdom from his Master.

During a mission to Kalee, to settle another Civil War sparked by the Huk, Lupercus would endure his Trials and become a Jedi Knight, but at the terrible cost of his Master's life. On Kalee the Huk refused to give ground and Lupercus' negotiations would fail. The Huk leader, Hered would turn on the Jedi mediaters and attack them without warning. Zorro, sensing the danger, grabbed his padawan threw him out of a large window, sending him crashing into the seas to safety. Zorro however would perish in a hail of blaster fire, killed by the Huk's grunts. But his Master had given him a way out, Hered thought Lupercus to be dead from the fall and turned his sights to destroying his age old enemy in the Kaleesh. Lupercus was distraught and confused and blamed himself for the situation.

When he landed on the beach, Zorro's spirit was there awaiting him. aster Zasz imparted his last words of wisdom to his Padawan and because of this Lupercus was able to let go of his guilt and subsequently the grief over his Master's death; confident his Master had become one with the Force Lupercus understood the final tenet of the Jedi Code. And he managed to pull himself together and bring about an end by siding with the Kaleesh. Though he did not wish to take a side, the Huk were looking for a genocidal victory, and Lupercus could not allow that to happen. In a three day battle for the capital city, the Huk were demolished and their forces were cut into thirds. With their forces divided, Lupercus was able to force Hered to believe his other men had surrendered and Hered gave his order to ceasefire. By the time he learned he'd been fooled, Republic forces had arrived to arrest and detain high ranking members of Hered's forces.

Weary, Lupercus returned home to the Jedi Temple and the Council granted him Knighthood for displaying bravery and courage, despite the loss of his Master. His Padawan braid was severed as was tradition making him a Jedi Knight among his peers. After his knighting, Lup took a padawan for himself, a human teen named Nalorin Hanzo. Many felt Lupercus was still too young a Knight to take a Padawan, but Lupercus believed it was the best way to occupy his time. Teaching what was taught to him was important to Lupercus. He felt he could do more by teaching the next generation of Jedi than he could operating in the field alone.

Hanzo was steadfast and quick tempered. However, Lupercus managed to turn the young boy into a Jedi Knight, teaching him the ways of the Force as Zorro had taught him. And eventually through the limitless patients the Jedi was known to display, Knighted his first padawan without a moments pause from any Jedi on the Council. The two remained good friends following their separation as Master and pupil, Hanzo still coming to Lupercus when he needed help. Hanzo and Lupercus were once joined in a mission to Alderaan where the helped to decide which noble family was to take control of the title of King, it was Lupercus and Hanzo, who through reading the ancient history of the families named the Ienne family as successors to the thrown . Lup and Hanzo work incredibly well together. Lup was reminded of he and his Masters bond, by the one the two shared.

When the Jedi were betrayed by the Republic, Lupercus was present at the Temple. Delcared criminals and to be murdered on sight, Lup and the other Jedi escaped Coruscant and spread across the galaxy. He, like many of those in the Temple his age, helped younglings and young Padawans get to safety fleeing through a series of sewer and utility tunnels beneath the Temple, it was to their benefit they had not been used in some time and went unchecked by the Emperor's legions until after the Temple's attack. Lupercus looked back at the Temple raid in horror and felt tremendous guilt for not doing more. And despite his best efforts, many defenseless Jedi and children were slaughtered and he was left as one of the few survivors. Lupercus was one of many that still carried the torch for the Republic and sought to end sinister injustices of Edwis Josdon. Not long after escaping the Temple was he and the younglings with him attacked by hunters seeking their bounty, the Jedi Knight managed to fend them off, but they were open targets at that point. People were angry, disappointed, and in fear of the Jedi it was too dangerous for them to be in public view. Lupercus believed his best chance of survival was to go into hiding, but prior to this contacted Master Utaar Ruukun to deposit the younglings he helped to escape aboard Ruukun's ship, the Haven, and the two parted ways shortly after. It was Lupercus' belief that too many Jedi in one area would be dangerous so he did not join Utaar, despite his desire to. Though in hiding now, the Jedi had plans to rebel against the Empire, to bring democracy back to the galaxy. As he believed it should be.

And so he went into hiding in the Outer Rim and joined with Jedi Masters Evangeline Voru, Aeria Voru and her twin brother Tais Voru on Kalee when the two discovered the Jedi Knight in hiding and trying to prevent an escalating war. Though Master Aeria had to leave to save her Padawan, Master Evangeline and her Padawan Raken Stormrider stayed behind to aid Lupercus. However the Sith and Empire had succeeded where they failed and the fighting ensued on Kalee once more, the leaving Tais, Falstur, and the Jedi caught in the middle. A darksider claiming the title of Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sinis attacked the Jedi hoping to add their lightsabers to his collection. Trying to goad the Jedi into a fight with him he kidnapped Tais Voru and stole the Kuati's ship The Idiot's Array. While under Sinis' capture, the ship designer was maliciously tortured, possibly leaving the man unable to bear children, but this was all to the sadistic man's pleasure. An arrogant and overconfident Padawan, Raken Stormrider attacked without allowing Evangeline and Lupercus to formate a plan and got himself killed. With the arrival of a rogue agent named Falastur Luran, Tais and Aeria were rescued from Kalee. Lupercus fought off Sinis giving the others a chance to escape and in doing so perished beneath the Sith Lord's lightsaber, the blade slicing into his torso and the Sith taking pleasure in the murder; Evie, Tais, and Falasur fled. The Jedi's body was left on Kalee.
