- "As for the rebels, I am not sure they are a threat to me, just as I'm not sure your 'Stormtroopers,' and Empire are a truly benevolent force."
- —Rhiara D'Loroc: Not Safe for Long
Rhiara D'Loroc is the former Senator of Bellassa who emerged as leader of the main rebel body after the deaths of the pioneers who started the movement. She, like many of the refugees who sought shelter on her fallen planet, has lost virtually everything since the Imperials took over her peaceful planet. She is trying her best to find the path to peace in a galaxy of war. Tough choices lie ahead.

Rhiara was raised by her loving parents Kale and Ressa D'Loroc until the age of fifteen when the two died in their sleep. Rhiara's family consisted of well-known noblemen who were involved in politics and maintaining the welfare of the peaceful planet Bellassa. They were both devoted to preserving nature, and used their funds to keep development from taking away the beauty that nature already provided the planet, though they understood the need to keep the main city outfitted with proper technology and real estate.
After her parents died, she and her younger brother Xanth were put under the guardianship of their uncle Felan D'Loroc, since he was the closest living relative. Felan became like a second father to the children, being that his own sun had been away for years, training as a Jedi. His loving and peaceful nature kept the trio close knit, and strengthened their optimism for a continued peace on their planet.
Rhiara became involved in politics, working as a personal assistant for former Senator Relyn Sorai when she was eighteen. As the years passed she became more and more involved with the Senator, becoming his secretary, and public relations specialist. At the age of twenty four she ran for the local legislature and won, and became more involved in politics ever since. At the age of twenty six she became the Senator of Bellassa, Relyn was supportive of her campaign, since he had helped mold her and could not run again because of term limits.
During her term Bellassa has been as peaceful as ever. Her personal life, has not. Her beloved uncle Felan committed suicide after his son was killed during the Great Purge. Even though he barely heard from his son, his death changed Felan in some way. Felan's mind began to deteriorate. He barely ate or slept, and finally he hung himself from his balcony at their home. It was seeing how ruined Felan was that led Rhiara to outlaw the Jedi from her planet, even though the tragedy didn't touch her planet as much as the core worlds. She was determined to spare the people of Bellassa from madness or loosing a loved one in this manner. As for her brother, he's become more quiet and calculating since his uncle died.
A Jedi Padawan landed on the planet, hoping for help in finding other members of his order. He and Rhiara talked at length about the Jedi, but in the end each kept their own views on the topic. She offered him a ship to take him where he wanted to go, but he regarded this gesture as the very least she could've done. He departed.
The Xinges were sent to Bellassa to persuade Rhiara to willingly join the Empire. After some arguing, and the return of Aslyn Denethorn, violence broke out. Rhiara was declared a criminal to the Empire, for the crime of harboring a Jedi. Soldiers surrounded Rhiara, her bodyguard and the Padawan. In an unexpected turn of events a woman arrived on the scene and threatened the life of Katie Xinge in order to get Rhiara out of the building safely. Rhiara and Raynath left the building to the sound of blaster shots ringing out.
The planet seemed in a state of chaos, more and more Imperial ships landed, as stormtroopers attacked the civilian population. Raynath covered Rhiara's eyes as he escorted her to the ship, with a pilot who managed to stay alive, while many of his fellow countrymen were lost.
The aircraft was intercepted by a Mon Calamari, Admiral Arbassi, who spoke of his own bad experiences with the Empire, and took Rhiara to the Rebel Base called Sanctum.
Since arriving at Sanctum, Rhiara has met many new people, including Killien Rallard, Tais Voru and Poca Winniv. She has discovered that the woman who helped save her life on Bellassa is here, but she has sustained injuries as a result of the rescue.
Rhiara took part in a meeting with the leadership of this rebellion. She has received some support by other peaceful people, specifically Evangeline Voru, and has been regarded as naive by many others including the Admiral and especially Miss Winniv. She is not sure of the part she will play in this rebellion, or if she belongs there at all.
Since leaving her planet, Rhiara has been plagued by nightmares of death and blood, where all the faces of the dead are unclear except for that of her bodyguard. She is not sure if these nightmares are the result of stress of if they are prophetic, but she doesn't want to take any chances. Raynath has volunteered himself to fight for the rebellion, she will try her best to talk him out of it.
Rhiara starts to wonder if there really are like-minded people at the base. She doesn't feel in the best of spirits after the meeting. She is assigned on a mission by Nila Wynn, asked to cooperate with Poca Winniv, the woman who sought to tear her apart at the meeting.
Rhiara, Poca and Jeren Sansiri go to Bespin to try to open a trade agreement for tibanna gas. Shortly after landing, Raynath is shot in the shoulder by a misguided assassination attempt. The rebels are held in Bespin custody until Asudak Jasara arranges for them to be set free. With the help of her allies, a tentative agreement is made with the former Senator in order to secure the gas for the rebels, though no official payment has been made.
Poca befriended her cellmate, a rebel operative called Ella Moors, who leaves the planet with them.
Rhiara blames herself for Raynath's injury.
Perhaps more bold from his dance with death, Raynath gave Rhiara a gentle kiss-the first kiss she had experienced in womanhood. She is unsure what to make of the gesture.
Rhiara and her companions come back to Sanctum to find it in a warzone. They return to a Mon Cal to find that her Senator colleagues are unaccounted for and that the time for the shaky ceasefire is running out. Rhiara has the Admiral dismissed and replaced, and has the pilots set the course for the "new base" that awaits them.
Raynath tells Rhiara that it was her brother, Xanth, who had informed the Imperials of her intentions.
Rhiara and the rebels reach the planet after a long period of travel. They find the "base" is in need of much work. (In progress)

Rhiara is a pacifist. Her land has been peaceful for a long time and she will do what it takes to keep it that way. She is fiercely loyal to her friends and those she cares for, even if they might not care as much for her. She is compassionate and loving. She does her best to make people feel at ease around her, and welcome. She is kind to strangers, despite their affiliation. She believes that good exists in everyone. She can speak forcefully and sharp when she absolutely has to, but it is not a stance she likes to adopt. If her light is threatened she will do her best to fight for it, in the most peaceful way possible, even though she doesn't know how to fight. She wants to keep the citizens of her planet happy and safe, and will do as much as she can to ensure that.
She is welcoming to people of all races, though she has a distaste for militant peoples, she will try her best to find the good in them. The current political climate is filled with greed and imperialism, which she doesn't like. She is becoming increasingly worried about the welfare of her people. Like her, they are peaceful, they have a law enforcement agency but even they are not well trained in fighting, since the need has never been there. She fears that her planet may be too easy of a target, but yet doesn't want to scare her citizens or spoil the nature of their peaceful lifestyle. She feels she cannot ask them to be prepared to fight, when she herself never has been. If one wishes to train in the ways of the force, and is a citizen of Bellassa, they must leave and not return. She believes to choose the way of the force is to choose Death as your shadow. She doesn't wish for her citizens to endure the tragedy that has touched so many.
Rhiara is 5'6" and has a slim, though non-muscular, build. Her skin has a healthy glow to it, though is far from dark. Her eyes are light brown, even appearing golden when the lighting is right. Her eyes are framed by long black lashes and neat brown eyebrows. Her lips are medium sized and pink in color. She has wavy medium brown hair that she wears up most of the time. If she wore it down, you'd see that it flows to her shoulders. She wears no jewelry save an amulet with a deep blue, oblong stone on a silver chain. Her wardrobe consists of full-length dresses, that are for the most part unornamented except by a belt or sash. Their beauty lies in their shape, and relaxed flow. She favors rich earthtones like vermilion, brown and tan. She does wear other rich colors such as midnight blue. She stays away from overly bright colors and black. Her feet are usually in simple slippers with no heels.

Raynath Ardis Name: Raynath Ardis Raynath Ardis (30)- human, bodyguard, sworn to protect her if it means sacrificing himself. He has never had to defend her from harm yet, but is always present unless she is washing or dressing (in which case he's outside the door). He defends her from verbal abuse since she is more apt to dismiss it or respond with kindness, he can be blunt and cutting with his words if it means protecting his lady's dignity. He is somewhat of a retainer and advisor to her, since he sees everything she goes through from another angle. He is the best trained of all the law enforcement agents on the planet, but that isn't saying much, considering none of them are true warriors. Unlike his lady, he admires the path of the Jedi but wasn't fit to become one himself, and gave up on that dream long ago- which is much better for the current climate. He is friendly with Rhiara's brother Xanth, but always takes Rhiara's side, annoying Xanth so that they could never have a true friendship. He carries a stun baton, that they know about, but secretly has a vibroblade knife concealed in his boot. Even though his mistress doesn't believe in fighting to cause harm, he will use if it means saving her life. Raynath is 6'2", 180lbs of muscle, clothed in simple black pants, a black fitted shirt and boots of the same color. His hair is long and black, kept in a short ponytail. His eyes are brown, and he is expressionless most of the time. His complexion is tan, his face is usually covered in stubble just above his wide pink lips and extends down to his chin. His chin is cleft. His nose is medium sized. |
