Other Character Details
Personality
Solivagus is a sly fox, manipulative, calm, cool, collected and charming. Yet when threatened he becomes an iron bear. While he is battle hardened, he doesn’t openly flaunt it as some do, which could lead a foe into a deadly trap. Being of a more traditional Mandalorian upbringing, Solivagus is tolerant of many other species as long as they uphold a respectable stature in his eyes which could be considered Mandalorian. However, this upbringing also forces him to respect any enemy that has the prowess and determination to defeat him or give a good battle. His philosophies generally differ from other mercenaries in other aspects as well, and Solivagus is more social then one might be led to believe. He fights to earn a living because it is his only skill, but when not in a dangerous situation, this merc usually thinks of a simple life where he can live in peace and try to start a family again even if he doubts he deserves one. Though usually forced to do dishonorable things, honor is important to him and he does his best to uphold his own.
Belongings
Solivagus noticably owns his personal heavy plate Mandalorian armor, and a small arsenal of weapons either on his person or collected upon his ship, which is a heavily modified Imperial ATR-6 Assualt Transport ship. It is simply named 'Star Killer'.
History
Solivagus was born into a very small Mandalorian community, if it could be called such. The great wars that occurred 4 thousand years ago was a time of prime for the Mandalorians. They had nearly taken the galaxy single-handedly. However, now that was ancient history. The clans were no more, and after the last two large groups of mercenaries were warring, they were gone as well. The Mandalorians were not finished though. Small communities thrived and small pockets of warriors still existed. They would rise again one day.
In the community, Solivagus had three brothers. One would die many years later from illness and the other would disappear completely, following the force. The Mandalorians were still bitter at force users, but Solivagus’ family raised their children to be traditional and respected the Jedi for their prowess on the battlefield. And though Solivagus himself did not leave to chase jedi, it was his desire to be something more. He trained hard in the Mandalorian art of war and fighting techniques under his father who was once a famous master combat trainer for his skills. However, Soli felt he needed to understand other fighting styles before his knowledge could be more complete.
He left as a young man, and the years passed as his experience grew. Echani techniques were of a high interest to him and he learned them eagerly as he respected the Echani. Another interest was military tactics and styles of other societies. Relens studied hard and fought along many mercenaries, bounty hunters and the like in his time, adding skills to his list. He even made a name for himself for his deadly marksmanship and close melee and hand to hand combat skills. But this approach had an ill fate. War and bloodshed began to slowly eat away at his endurance. It took some years, but Solivagus eventually changed his standpoint on many things.
The deaths weighed in on him and he began to desire a peaceful life and family. This made him break away from his original ideas about a good life. Though still relatively young, he felt old, and he wanted his own son to teach. This is what made him break off his engagements across the galaxy and return home. The Mandalorians were still pretty nomadic, but he had no trouble finding the old community. The Mandalorian community was now even smaller and what is more interesting, it was destroyed.
His family was in ashes and he was stunned to see this. Yet after mourning for them, he somehow managed to push himself onward. He decided to seek out a certain woman he had his eyes on in the past. Love had followed which blessed him with a beautiful little daughter of his own. Soliavgus blamed himself for the death of his parents due to his quest for power which lead him away from home. For this he tucked away his weapons and armor in a locked closet in his house. He tried to take up mining as a proffession to live a normal life, but it was simply not meant to be. In a hellish strike of bad fortune, disaster decided to visit him again. He'd come home to find his wife and child murdered and raped along with a couple individuals trying to escape with some of his family's possessions.
Rage developed him in his loss, and he nearly litterally ripped the two men apart with his bare hands, and certainly took their lives. Some time was spent there mourning yet again before Solivagus’ rage was to much. His newly found desire for blood had been sated, but he realized that it was again his fault. As a mandalorian it was in his culture that he was to protect his family ... thus he was a failure. It was hard to open that closet and place the armor back upon his body, but he would not die in grief. Combat was his only skill and he would survive. Yet silently he dealt with his failure with anger, and knew the best target to release said anger on was criminals ... The bounty hunter had returned.
NPC
CD4-8-88 was originally a combat droid for a rich farmer who wanted a henchman for special services. And to that degree, he wanted one who didn't ask any questions. How CD-4 changed hands in owners is unknown. The droid's memory was wiped after all. Though his armor and combat mounts were obvious, he was then reprogrammed for translation and other protocol. And CD-4 seemed to have a knack for getting new owners who wanted something different of him. Soon he was reprogramed with basic flight training and mechanics to be a shulfur and all around servent. There was a security system in his head though that kept programmed material from being overwritten or erased. Thus his skills only piled while his memories kept getting whiped.
Solivagus himself was lucky to find the droid at a small droid shop where the owner didn't know what he had on his hand. The droid was obviously outdated to newer models of combat and protocol droid right off the assembly lines and the rust showing up wasn't exactly nice ... but Solivagus realized that solid built droids to the expenses that this one was, were much better than those quickly assembled on the line. Needless to say the mandalorian was quick to purchase and clean up the droid, to who he named Bucket.
CD-4-8-88 or CD4 and Bucket as Soli took to calling him turned out to be a valuable ally ... mostly in flying, translating, and repairs. Very rarely though, Solivagus could depend on him as an extra gun in dicey situations. Not the most effective for sure ... but occassionally it was just what tipped the scales.
