Evolution has instituted varying levels of staff to help both old and new members throughout their simulation experience. This page details what each level of staff is responsible for and whom you should go to for help depending on what area you're in need of assistance in.
Directors - The directors are responsible for the duties required of maintaining and running a successful community on a day-to-day basis. The Directors are those who "direct" the flow of the board, story, and plots; it is their responsibility to keep things moving as well as communicate ideas and, facilitate the administrative portion of the board. This includes settling disputes, monitoring factions/progress, moderating topics, and ensuring a general harmony on the board.
Teams - Evolution's Teams were created to take a lot of the work load off of the administrations shoulders so that they, too, might be able to enjoy writing and interacting with everyone. These teams detailed here are responsible only for the specifics they were created for. Questions pertaining to the areas covered by the teams need to be directed to the team leader.
The Art Team - Evolution’s Art Team is responsible for the myriad of images that keeps our forum and database visually appealing. Their foremost duties consist of creating banners, signatures, and avatars for eligible characters, making posters for completed scenarios, and designing the awards for the SWERPAs as well as Member of the Month. The members of this talented team also monitor the graphics of the database to ensure they complement the layout as well as diligently work on any special request from the Directors.
Bio Approval - The Biography Approval Committee, or BAC, is a small group of members comfortable not only with canonical Star Wars information, but the complex workings of SWE’s own universe. The BAC determines when a character is accepted to begin simulating. They are assigned with the difficult task of rigorously analyzing each biography to ensure that it avoids the many RP clichés, fits in our timeline, and displays a decent command of the English language. Members of the BAC are encouraged to remain anonymous. However you may contact the BAC in private through the "face" of the Committee, G-3PO who will relay/answer any questions/concerns you may have toward your application or the process thereof.
Mentors - Helping new and current members alike, the individuals known as Mentors act not only as mentors but also liaisons for SWE’s database. Whether it’s through explaining the storyline or helping someone develop their character to fit into the standards maintained by the BAC, our mentors are here to offer as much assistance as possible to any new members. Additionally, this team is responsible for transferring accepted biographies from the registration forum and to the database. Should any new member have a question about SWE, its policies, storyline, etc., he/she is encouraged to make a post in the SWE 101 forum, a private forum designed to help individuals grow acclimated to Evolution.
News Team - The News team is composed of several talented writers who create news stories from current events taking place within the Evolution galaxy, make up stories to keep things interesting, and more. Rebel Yell prints their version of the truth when it comes to the war between the Empire and the Rebellion. Jonam Dub, Minister of Propaganda, puts an Imperial spin on things and reports the Empire's version of the truth about the war. Lady Syren runs a syndicated advice column in which she responds to letters submitted by the citizens seeking advice in a wide variety of topics.
The RPC - In a continual effort to put the storyline in the hands of the members and not the directors, the Role-play Commission (better known as the RPC) is a group of dedicated and experienced role-players who act as a “think-tank” for Evolution. Their duties include (but are certainly not limited to) supervising scenarios for character conflicts or time line inconsistencies, developing story lines and plot devices, monitoring character activity for each faction, and even regulating our moderated scenarios.
As a means of maintaining the integrity of the RPC, all members are to remain anonymous. If you need to contact the Commission for any reason, please feel free to send a PM to one of the Directors, the RPC Director account, who has been elected to be the “face” of this hard-working team.
Database Team - The Evolution Database is an important periphery function to our simulation and is expanded and compounded upon everyday by new members, but also by SWE's new and improved Database Management Company or, the DMC. They are the authority on the care and construction of the SWE Database, responsible for both maintaining and adding to the database to provide a plethora of information on SWE canon to all Evolutionaries.
Web Masters - The web master is responsible for anything directly related to the software and the domain housing Evolution. Adding features, improving existing features, coding, correcting errors that may occur, etc. Any error encountered that is a web issue needs to be reported in the Support Forum.
Faction_Leaders - Evolution has factions for the Sith, Jedi, Imperials, Rebels, and Unaffiliated characters. Each faction has its own leader and any questions that relate to the factions must be directed to the leader of that faction.
