Star Wars: Evolution has various members of staff dedicated to helping the members and board as we continue to grow and evolve. This page details what each of our teams and staff members are responsible for and how to contact the correct person in order to seek aid in everything SW:E related. If you’re interested in joining any one of our teams, please be sure to read that teams Database Page for more information and any rules pertaining to membership.

The Administrative Staff of SW:E are known as the board’s Directors, because they direct the flow of the community in both the IC story and the OOC tasks that keep us up and running. Currently the Directors consist of six people, each dedicated to their own area’s of the board which they run themselves, as well as working united to insure that SW:E has the strongest, most dedicated leadership staff possible.

The Directors are tasked with the responsibility of maintaining and running a successful community on a day-to-day basis. They work hard to keep things updated as well as communicate ideas amongst themselves and with the members of our community, settling member disputes, monitoring factions/teams and their progress, moderating topics and ensuring the general harmony and success of the board.

The Assistant Directors are essentially moderators of different area’s of the board. They help the Directors by playing the parts of Team Leaders and taking care of many of the responsibilities that those roles include, such as moderating team activity and the members that those teams include, recruiting new membership and making sure that the teams duties are fulfilled. The Assistant Directors run their teams without interference from the Directors, allowing them the space to grow an expand as they see fit.

The long list Evolution’s teams were created to take a lot of the work load off the Directors shoulders so that they, too, might be able to enjoy writing and interacting with everyone on more then an administrative level. These teams, detailed below, are responsible only for the specific area’s they were created to cover. Questions pertaining to these area’s should be directed to the Team Leaders.

Evolution’s Art Team is responsible for the myraid of images that keep our forum and database visually appealing. Their foremost duties consist of creating character banners, signatures and avatars for eligible characters, creating scenario posters for completed Galaxy threads, designing the awards for our quarterly SWERPA’s and all the other awards presented to our members. These talented people also monitor the images in the Database, sometimes aiding in the creation of pages and handling any special art requests that come from the Directors.

The Biography Approval Committee, or BAC, is a small group of members comfortable in their knowledge not only with canonical Star Wars information, but the complex workings of SWE’s own universe and the differences between the two. The BAC is tasked with the often difficult task of rigorously analyzing each character biography to ensure it meets the many requirements of acceptance for SWE. These include, but are not limited to, ensuring the biography avoids the many RP cliches, fits in our timeline and history, displays a decent command of the English language and is realistic.

Members of the BAC are encouraged to remain anonymous. However, if you have a need to contact the BAC you may do so in one of two ways. Either post in the “Character Registration Forum” or send a private message to one of the Directors. The team will relay/answer any questions or concerns you may have toward your application or the process thereof, as well as directing you towards the proper people for story-based questions and needs.

This team is currently not accepting new membership.

Database Team - The Evolution Database is one of the most important features at SWE. Its serves our simulation in many different forms, housing all of our important information from planets and weapons, character biographies and the IC Timeline. The Database Team is in charge of maintaining the Database's standard of excellence by continuing to fill her with new information, updating the old, and filtering out everything cannon. Further, they run the Database Improvement Drive, which is a monthly event designed to help continuously improve the Database. If you have any questions or requests involving the Database, please post them in the 'Database planning and discussion' forum.

Mentors - Helping new and current members alike, the individuals known as Mentors act not only as mentors but also liaisons for SWE’s members. Whether it’s through explaining the storyline or helping someone develop their character to fit into the standards maintained by the BAC, our mentors are here to offer as much assistance as possible to any member. Should any new member have a question about SWE, its policies, storyline, etc., he/she is encouraged to make a post in the SWE 101 forum, a private forum designed to help individuals grow acclimated to Evolution. A Mentor will respond and contact you shortly there after.

The News Team is made up of two sections, the IC News and the OOC Newsletter.

The IC News is a group of journalist NPC characters controlled by some of the talented writers of SWE. From time to time they post news articles about various things, including current events in the Galaxy, story line points not yet shown in threads, and the constant battle of power between the Empire and the Republic. Each journalist NPC has their own version of the truth and their own loyalties to each side of the story, some writing in favor of the Empire, others for the Republic, and a few for neither side at all.

The OOC Newsletter is released once every quarter with a special, anniversary release on December 5th. The articles included are of various OOC topics raging from information on different parts of the board factions and teams, a closer look at some of its members, reminders from directors and articles that detail some funnier topics. A small group of talented writers works on this team, coming together to try and create a Newsletter each quarter that everyone is interested in reading.
