Personality
In the field of personality, Talos is quite an extraordinary mercenary, he’s a kind man, and has left behind the reserved and insensitive attitude they mostly sport long ago. During working hours he is calm, friendly and helpful, while still keeping an eye open for everything that might cause a problem. He tries to maintain good contacts with both his superiors, but even more with his colleagues and inferiors, since they’re the ones he’ll be counting on to help him get the enemy of his back.
He likes talking, but he finds that nothing is as satisfying as being able to hear someone out about his troubles and fears, give him some advice, a good pat on the back and then buy him or her a drink. He is confident in his abilities and it just radiates around him, as if you can physically feel how confident and strong he is. He’s an optimist even though he has seen more evil and misery then most, he just keeps on walking with his head held high and his smile calming most people around him. His voice is deep and quite soothing and is quite comforting to his listeners, be it on the battlefield or in day to day life, he’s got the kind of voice people listen to.
Talos is a drinker, a gambler in many games going from betting on swoop bike races to pazaak and someone who doesn’t mind a bit of paid love once in a while. His usage of alcoholic beverages isn’t that excessive, but he tends to get a bit rowdy or depressed when he’s drunk. His favorites are lomin ale and Taresian ale, which he carries with him in a small flacon at all times. Gambling on the other hand, is quite another thing. He has lost more then a bit credits in the past and will probably do so again. He himself is too big and a bit to clumsy to cheat with dice or cards, so has to play fair, but he makes very sure the others do. Nonetheless a portion of his money gets sucked away when he hears the dice rattle. Even though he is pleasant company and quite friendly, he has never had a girlfriend or lover, only paid mistresses. He doesn’t want love to do to him what it did to his father. He isn’t afraid of it, he just doesn’t want it to happen. A second reason for this is the fact that he is unable to stop fighting. Something that he has accepted years ago. He is also a collector, weapons, armor, small tidbits from everywhere, he likes to take them along and stow them away in his ship, occasionally looking at them and thinking about the good times. He keeps a collection of what are called identification tags, small metal plates with names and dates on them, of comrades in arms who did not survive fights. They are both a blessing and a curse, their memory can lift his spirit, thinking about the good times they had, but can also make him ask that fatal what-if question his father always warned him for. He cures it with good strong ale, these outbursts of depressive thoughts, drinking and sitting there, brooding alone in his room or ship. He sits there and just tries to drink away his memories and scars of battles and pains of memories…
Belongings
- His two vibro-axes, two shorter versions of the BD1-cutter vibro-axe optimized for one-handed use.

- Sun guard armor Replica.
- Short jengardin double-bladed vibroblade
- Vibroshivs that have been fastened on top of his gloves. They are retractable and only used in situations that require mortal or crippling injuries and when there is no time or space for another weapon. His last resort.
- His ship: a Starfeld ZH-25 Questor with boosted sensory range and a jammer.. He dubbed her “the bronze raven”.
History
Talos Nirn was the son of an engineer working in one of the many Merr-Sonn munitions factories on Correlia, and a secretary of a small transportation company, he was the third son in a family that would ultimately bear four. Their youth was quite normal until he reached the age of six. Their mother ran off with an unknown spacer that had been working for the same company she did and both left the planet without warning to go adventure around the galaxy. During three months their father was shattered and their eldest brother, Parsk who was ten at the time, took over as much of the work as he could bear. Their father would go to work and he would look out for his younger siblings as much as school and life permitted. These three months were one of the many hard times Talos hit upon, but one of the few he couldn’t do anything against.
After those three months their father pulled together as well as he could and began taking over his role as father again. The flight of his loved wife had changed him for the better, he became more patient, more understanding and many times wiser then he had been before. His father learned them a lot of those valuable lessons people often learn too late. “Do not be burned by the past, What-if is the main cause of our most deadly disease, despair”, was one of these lessons. The lack of female involvement would cause some problems later on, but taught all four brothers the values of brotherhood and comradeship.
Like his eldest brother he joined a wrestling and CQC club, first just tagging along, and then actively beginning to participate in the lessons. The boys spent hours in that room, fighting each other and laughing while nursing their injuries. All of them did different courses and taught the rest the things they learned over there. This further intensified the close ties they have, even until today.
As he matured his physical size increased rapidly, and so did his weight. He was already beginning to display the muscularity and height his brothers before him had shown. At the age of twelve he was already the biggest of his class and four years later he had reached his peak. His body struggled to keep up with him. His mental growth was in normal pace with his physical and he began to become a strong-willed and confident individual. He was good humored and quite social, even with his length taken into account. He graduated in robotics and mechanics on the age of 21, a degree which he had gotten from the local university. He had been a moderate student, not really a great mind, but good enough to get by and think quite analytical. He never tried to get a degree in design, since he did not have the required insight and creativity. Hand him something existing, and he will try to mod it, but don’t ask him to think up something totally new. He spent two years in the same company his father worked in, manufacturing blasters. He pieced them together and learned quite a lot about them, he began to develop a kind of interest for the collection and tweaking of things there. It took him two years to amass the needed credits for what he dreamed of, travel. He jumped on the first transport he found, zipping to various locations and doing odd jobs for nine months before his credits ran out and he got botched down on Tatooine. His proficiency as a mechanic gave him at least some hope of being able to ever leave, and he signed a temporal contract with one of the smaller and went to repair sandcrawlers and speeders for the company. He hadn’t counted on the Tuskens of course… The tuskens occasionally attack sandcrawlers, and they did the same with his. He wasn’t really interested in the complex reasons behind their assault and put the small vibroknife he had to good use. Many trained reflexes that had lain dormant for a year reactivated and found himself able to survive the few moments before the back-up scooter arrived and managed to drive them off. Not much remained from the sandcrawler, even less of the crew. Three others crawled from various hiding places inside the vehicle, none of them unharmed, and neither was Talos. He had several broken ribs, and his head was bleeding, a light concussion. The sandcrawler was a total mess though. He was treated at the local outpost and was given a small amount of credits as a health insurance. He bought himself his first blaster, a crappy thing that tickled more then it wounded, but he had started down the path that he would take. He stayed there two more years, so around 26 he left the bucket of sand that is Tatooine and bought himself a ship. The Bronze raven, and blasted off in search of other ways to live. He did find them, but they couldn’t keep him. He stayed on a number of planets for a few weeks, but they never could keep him. The one planet that could, was one not many stay voluntarily, Nar Shadaa. Nar Shadaa, the hellhole of the galaxy even worse then Tatooine, is a place of opportunities, if you’re willing to take the risk. But he was, hiring his muscle out to various smaller companies and smuggling operations he was able to amass enough money to buy an acquisition that would replace his vibroknife, a short Jengardin Double-bladed vibroblade. He stayed on Nar Shadaa three years, ranking up in both proficiency and recognition. After those years he left the planet once more and has kept traveling from that point on.
The transition of power wasn’t easy for the Nirn family, not because of any political affection, but more because their brother died during the assault on Belassa, he had been there as an escort to one of the spaceships located on the space port. But none of the brothers will raise a hand against the empire unless paid for, or in moments that their strange and complicated code of honor compels it of them. But if they encountered the man who ordered the attack, things might get a little complicated for them.
NPC
His two brothers occasionally appear inside the story and so does his father.
