Other Character Details:
Personality: Some might characterize Vyse as greedy…and they’re right. Unfortunately he is also not good with money, so he often finds his pockets empty as soon as they are filled. These factors of his personality also, in part, shape Vyse’s work ethic; he is quite lazy. His desire is to get rich quick, but without all the hard work that comes from doing so. He minds his own business, if someone was getting mugged he isn’t very likely to step in and help, even if it’s a personal friend. For one thing the few friends Vyse has are more likely to be the mugger. Vyse is two faced as well, he’s very good at smiling and laughing with you, assuring you of your safety while he’s secretly stabbing you in the back. He’s sold people out before to further his personal gain.

Some say you can divide people into two types of categories; country or city folk. When it comes to Vyse you can take the peaceful tranquility of a place like Dantooine and shove it up your ass. Give him the hustle and bustle of a place like Nar Shaddaa any time of the week. He prefers the nightlife, staying up late partying and crashing through most of the daylight hours. His whole life can be defined as fast; be it in a starfighter or his relationship, which often end as quickly as they begin. Because of this he is impatient, and finds himself bored when there is nothing captivating his attention, so it’s not surprising when he sometimes leaves hobbies half-done in pursuit of another venture.

Vyse is a pretty laid back and easy going individual, he’s not the kind to lose his temper and start a fight, mainly because he can’t fight worth a damn. He’s decent with a blaster, terrific in the cockpit, but when it comes to physical combat, Vyse is typically the first one down in a fight. Also due to this laid back nature Vyse usually strays from subjects like politics, and is indifferent to the Empire and the Jedi Purge, it didn’t affect him in anyway. So with that in mind why is someone like this wishing to join a bunch of rebels? Through a strange turn of events, Vyse angered a Hutt and got a bounty placed on his head, and he figures fighting alongside rebels is a lot nicer than ending up working in the spice mines for the rest of his life.

Belongings: Z-95 Headhunter(with a hyper drive), DH-17 Blaster Pistol

History: Vyse’s history begins with a Chiss soldier who would later be known as the bounty hunter Haert. Haert was a loyal soldier to his commander, and that loyalty would eventually have him banished. It happened shortly after Haert was given command of his own ship, and was on routine patrol with his commander, who was onboard another ship. There they came across a Tof ship that had accidentally flew into their boarders. Haert and his old mentor gave chase to the ship, even after having specific orders not to follow it past their territory. They did, and engaged several more Tof ships, until finally pulling back when their ships took too much damage.

When they returned they were stripped of their commands and faced judgment. With their exploits they had nearly triggered a war, and had disobeyed direct orders. Their punishment was swift and harsh, they were to be exiled. They spent ten years surviving off an uninhabited world until one day a pirate ship landed, looking to hide from the authorities for a while. After careful planning and deliberation, Haert and his mentor managed to trick them and boarded the ship. The pirates now became the exiled, but the new ship had come with a price. Heart’s mentor was killed during the process. While looking over the new ship he headed for whence it came, Hutt space.

During this time Haert went through a fit of depression. He was away from his home and his people, and the only person he could call a friend was now dead. After landing on Nar Shaddaa he quickly found work, there was always room for someone of his strength even if he didn’t speak basic. Slowly though he began to learn some of the language, he also shortened his name to Haert to for simplicity shake to his employers, and then began a career as a bounty hunter. While on Nar Shaddaa it wasn’t uncommon for Haert to visit prostitutes, one prostitute he was particularly fond of was a human female named Mogo Toraez.

During one of his return trips home he learned that Mogo was pregnant, and after paying for a DNA test, he learned that it was his child she was carrying. The owner of Mogo wanted to terminate the pregnancy, but Haert paid for her contract instead. This wasn’t done out of compassion for the woman, but the child. Haert saw this as a way to keep his Chiss heritage intact, by teaching his child the ways of the race he was now cut off from. There was several conditions Mogo had though before she agreed to keep the child, they signed a contract that he would marry her and provide for her for the rest of her days. Seeing no choice in the matter, Haert married the former prostitute.

He then relocated the odd family on Bespin. It provided an area where Haert could still find work, and a safer environment than that of the smuggler’s moon. After nine months the child was born, a boy who Haert named Karrh’vyse’sordomoan. And though his skin was a lighter blue and his eyes weren’t red, the child was the closest thing to a Chiss that Haert had seen in a long time.

While his parents never truly loved each other, they did get along fairly well, and they still continued to have a physical relationship, but they truly loved their child. Haert had more of a get tough kind of approach to love, whereas Mogo was more prone to spoil her son. In fact she bought him everything Vyse could want and then some with the money provided by Haert. This ended up spoiling their soon a great deal, much to Haert’s disappointment, as well as the fact that Vyse didn’t appear interested in learning about his Chiss heritage. As a solution to this problem, he took his son with him on his bounty hunting trips when he turned fourteen.

These were among some of the worst years of Vyse’s life. He was used to being pampered, not working hard for his money. Not only that but his father’s combats lessons were brutal, and though he handled a blaster fairly well, the boy just couldn’t fight for beans. The only real praise Vyse received from his father was when he piloted the ship, something he was quite good at. Vyse hated this life and he and his father often fought, sometimes even getting physical, which didn’t bode well for the much weaker Vyse. Vyse found several ways to rebel against his father, one such way was his name. Haert’s name was a combination of his whole Chiss name, and he was hoping Vyse would do the same. Instead, the young hybrid chose the middle portion of his Chiss name and took his mother’s surname. Equally to his father’s annoyance, Vyse started dying his dark hair, another Chiss characteristic, bright blonde.

For four years he worked with his father, against his will. Then one day their work took them to Coruscant, and Vyse saw this opportunity for freedom. Walking into a military recruiting center, Vyse joined the Republic’s navy. He let his father know through a holomessage moments before he took a shuttle to basic training. There Vyse enrolled in the starfighter program, and was soon near the top of his class. As you can imagine though, military life didn’t suit well for someone like Vyse. He went from being bossed around by his father, to being bossed around by complete strangers. Though he was an excellent pilot, his disciplinary record kept him from progressing high in rank. Vyse lasted for three years in the military, longer than anybody expected, until one night he got drunk and started a bar room brawl. It was during this time that Vyse got the scar above his left eyebrow, he was hit in the head with a bottle. Shortly after this Vyse was dishonorably discharged.

For two years after this Vyse did various odd jobs until he hooked up with a Corellian pirate named Filk Zoren. Impressed with his piloting skills, and since they had lost their previous helmsmen, he offered Vyse the job, who eagerly accepted. Another three years passed as Vyse slowly earned the trust of Zoren and most of the other crew. Then Vyse learned of the large bounty on Zoren and put in a call to the friends he had made during his brief military career. Vyse sabotaged the ship and Zoren and his crew were captured, while Vyse and his accomplish split the bounty and he found himself with a small fortune. The first thing he did was purchase a Z-95 Headhunter, then upgraded it with a hyperdrive. Though he disliked military life, he did learn there he never felt as comfortable as he did in a cockpit.

The credits didn’t last long, as is common with Vyse, and he found himself looking for work again. He made a trip to Nar Shaddaa and found himself in the employ of a Hutt gangster named Yenga. It was fun and simple work, bank robbery. Vyse never really risked his skin too much, he was the getaway driver and he found evading various police forces almost as fun as starfighting. After a particular close call though, and after a considerable payment to Yenga, he got out of the life. Though it appeared Vyse had covered his tracks pretty well, it wasn’t as well as he liked. It was a fairly simple mistake, he had dropped a blaster during one job, and his fingerprints were on file from when he had joined the Republic’s navy.

Vyse was smiling though when they took him in because he had an ace up his sleeve. They had him for one job on one planet, they hadn’t figured that he had driven for dozens of jobs on dozens of different worlds. So Vyse made a deal, he would tell them everything he knew, even Yenga’s next trip into Republic space. In exchange for all his information Vyse got only three years in a minimum security prison, and he got to keep his Headhunter, and they kept it properly maintained while he was locked up.

Prison was a breeze for Vyse, it really was. Though he wasn’t a fighter he minded his own business and did his time. The few times he had problems with someone he used his manipulative nature to survive. A whisper hear, a hush there, and the next thing you knew your enemy was shanked. So after three years went by, Vyse was back in his Headhunter and was ready to pick up things where he had left off. He still had a small portion of credits that he hadn’t told the authorities about and was ready to start a new life. After his time in prison he learned how to be better at committing crimes and at covering his tracks, and the galaxy was his for the taking. Or so he thought.

It turned out after Yenga had been locked up, his cousin Dooga took up the gangster mantle, and unfortunately for Vyse he learned that the two were very close. So close that he had put a hefty bounty on Vyse’s head. For the past year Vyse has found himself dodging bounty hunters left and right, and by doing that it’s hard to make a living. Some who believe in karma may say it’s what Vyse has coming to him for a life of treachery and greed, but he’s not ready to let karma win just yet. The way Vyse saw it there were two ways he could keep the bounty hunters off his back. One he could join the Empire, but with his criminal record and dishonorable discharge he doubted they would take it back. The other option was this mysterious rebellion that he had heard rumors about; people that were hard to find. His decision made, Vyse has spent the past several months trying to locate this rebellion and offers his services.
